Twelve people have walked on the moon, but only one man – Philippe Petit (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) – has ever walked in the immense void between the World Trade Center towers. Guided by his real-life mentor, Papa Rudy (Ben Kingsley), and aided by an unlikely band of international recruits, Petit and his gang overcome long odds, betrayals, dissension and countless close calls to conceive and execute their mad plan. Academy Award® winning director Robert Zemeckis uses advanced technology in the service of an emotional, character-driven story. The Walk is a love letter to Paris and New York City in the 1970s, but most of all, to the Towers of the World Trade Center.

Good but disappointingReally a 3.5 but can't say a full 4. The performances, direction, cinematography, sound track, and visuals were all great. Narration was it's down fallEverytime I started to get into the movie, the narration would jolt me out of the story. It became more of a distraction then helping you along the story line. A MISUNDERSTOOD MASTERPIECEIt's sad that many people don't understand and appreciate how beautiful and inspiring this movie truly is. Just because it moves at a slower pace and doesn't have any sex or violence people think it's pointless when it's really one big commentary on life. This movie shows how everyone should chase their dreams whatever they may be. Regardless of how dumb and stupid it may be to someone else, if it's important to you then you have to go for it. Joseph Gordon-Levitt gave an amazing performance and visually this movie had me on the edge of my seat. Surprisingly Good!First, let me sing the praises of JGL who did a wonderful & entertaining job as Mr. Petit. That he actually convinces you that anyone would desire to walk a wire between the Twin Towers is a major reason to watch this film. Second, I found the story engaging and the finale exciting, even though I as well as others know full well how it ends. What this film does that most documentaries don’t is underscore the magic and the desire that comes together when someone sets their sights on an impossible dream. Loved it..MacktanScore: 4/5
