Best Star Wars movie tied with "Return Of The Jedi". It was action-packed, funny and had a good hook. Sad about the deaths but it is a good movie!

This is a terrible excuse for a Star Wars film, Mary Sue characters, forced mysteries that are not justified, an unoriginal and boring plot, and it reuses so many plot points from the original trilogy it is actually painful. Rey is a boring and uninteresting Mary Sue of a protagonist. She never struggles once throughout the film and instantly learns how to use the force without any form of training and manages to defeat the main villain Kylo Ren, who is an experienced force user with actual training, with very little effort. This movie feels like it is heavily pandering to feminists and sjws without going through the trouble of actually developing an interesting female character. The side characters are unoriginal and not that interesting. And the villain is a poor excuse of an antagonist, his motives are very weak and confusing and he throws temper tantrums like a five year old instead of being the darth Vader 2.0 like he was portrayed in the trailers. They turned the empire into uninteresting nazi stereotypes and somehow the heroes are now a rebellion again even though they overthrew the empire, this makes no sense at all. The movie lacks any of the interesting Star Wars characteristics and replaces them with unoriginal and forgettable ships, worlds, aliens, and robots. Where are the twi'leks? Or the togrutas? The Chiss? Devaronians? Hutts? These are all canon species and you don't see a single one in the movie. The only Star Wars ships here are x wings, tie fighters, and one star destroyer, where are all of the cool Star Wars designs from the other films? All of the planets and robots are forgettable and just look like carbon copies of other planets we have already seen. Their is literally no difference between Jakku and Tattooine, they go to a forest planet that looks exactly like Endor and another planet that is a combination of the Death Star and hoth. How about you show us something we haven't seen before Disney, like a jungle planet or an actual moon or a planet without a sun instead of the same exact thing. The movie's plot is a shot for shot remake of A new hope, but without any of the charm or originality. A rebel has to get vital data to the rebellion through his droid who locates a force sensitive on a desert planet who then are joined by someone who doesn't believe in the force and doesn't want to help the rebels and an old mentor who teaches the protagonist about the Jedi. They reach the rebellion and have to destroy a world destroying superweapon that threatens to kill them all and find the last living Jedi master. This is literally a new hope but Disney and j.j.abrams acts like this is an amazing original story when it isn't. It doesn't matter if they did it on purpose or not, it is still a lazy retread of things we saw before and it does not make a good film. The only positive thing you can say about it is that the dialogue is not as bad as the prequels but it still is very forgettable and the tone is completely off, half of the movie feels like a marvel movie and it isn't until the last act that characters start acting like they are in a Star Wars movie. This movie does not justify all of the mysteries it sets up, they feel forced and feel like they just wanted to setup for future movies in the franchises. Do not support this movie or Disney in any way shape or form for this god awful film. J.J. Abrams has now ruined two classic sci fi series. I can't believe they killed the old extended universe for this poor excuse of a film.

I was to young to understand Star Wars when it first came out and never got into it later in life. But was looking for a movie to watch and was hesitant cause I really don't know any of the back or future story of the series so didn't know if I'd even know what was going on in the movie. It doesn't matter if this is the first time you've ever heard of Star Wars, this movie could be a 1 off. It was awesome.

Finally, after a year and half wait I saw the movie. I have to be honest with you. If you've followed Star Wars for a very long time this will be a bit of a disappointment. There are alot of flaws in this movie from the characters like Kylo Ren and BB-8, which made me laugh, to the story development, some of which were ripped out from Episode IV. The Star Killer Base looks to me more like a giant PacMan with one big red eye. Don't get me wrong die-hard Star Wars fans, there are also some great scenes also---obviously the scenes with the Original Trilogy characters returning to reprise their roles. This movie's quality to me is more on par with Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Not a bad, but not a great film either. This movie in my opinion is geared more for the younger audiences.
