Slasher FilmSuperb performances, kudos to artists with dedication. however. . . . This is JUST another slasher film in the vague guise of the supernatural. The gore WHOLLY unwarranted, the drama strangely muted. Another THROW IT ALL IN and focus on nothing Film - except possibly for the blood & gore. The soundtrack tells us from the opening, ‘Be afraid, be afraid, be very AFRAID’ because the writer/director wasn’t creative enough otherwise. The Scrn’Play is completely without context or explanation..Score: 1/5

Horrible!This movie has zero plot and main theme and is slow, depressing, confusing, boring, and I honestly think I would get more stimulation out of removing ear wax from my ear or clipping my toenails than suffering through this pretentiously slow lack of substance thing they call a horror movie. Yes there is some violebnce at the end that I remember seeing the first time, but over an hour into the second time watching I had to turn it off due to the sheer boredom and lack of character development. Cinematic throwback to an earlier timeIf you’re looking for the typical modern fare for the genre, you might be disappointed. It’s a steady purposeful jog to the finish line, certainly not a sprint. There are no jump scares or a mile a minute scene cuts from one to the next in rapid succession. This movie requires patience and an appreciation for cinematic pacing from an earlier era, harkening back to some of the dark, slow smoldering psychological thrillers of the seventies and occasionally the very early eighties (Robert Mulligan’s 1972 “The Other” and Michael Winner’s 1977 “The Sentinel” are examples that come to mind). This story mainly takes place in the facial expressions of the actors and is in no rush to unfold. The musical score is integral and functions almost as an unseen main character. Think a touch of Stanley Kubrick or Dario Argento as maybe more famous examples of directors who favor the kind of pacing I’m referring to, and you might get an idea of whether you’ll enjoy this movie or not. If I had to guess, younger movie goers born in the 90s and later may experience this movie as boring and might find themselves craving fast food by the first 15 minutes in; while older horror fans who grew up watching psycho drama horror flicks of the 70s and there about may find this to be a somewhat satisfying slow cooker..Score: 4/5
Modern horror classicIt’s hard to find a horror movie quite like this one these days. Instead of jump scares, gut-wrenching gore, and laughably stupid characters, this Hitchcock-esque film relies on a heavily bleak atmosphere from start to finish. The plot is not presented in chronological order, so you really have to pay attention to understand what’s going on. The scenes portray a constant sense of unease, and are beautifully paired with a perfectly eerie soundtrack that will make you feel nothing short of dread throughout the entire movie. The young ladies who star in this film are strong contributors to the atmosphere. I decided to watch this because I’m a big Emma Roberts fan, and her chilling performance was unlike anything else I’ve watched her do (if you’re one of those people who thinks she can’t act, this film will prove you wrong). Kiernan and Lucy were equally impressive as well. If you’re looking for something psychologically terrifying in a similar way to movies like The Shining, this is the perfect modern take..Score: 5/5

Not even a movieI was scared all right...horrified, but not by whats in the movie but rather at how a group of people can actually go through with this kind of garbage script and then have the gall to release it to the public. To say that this movie is bad doesn't even come close to describing how atrocious this thing is. I would say actually that this has outdone even other terrible movies because even though those movies might have bad stories, characters, plot...etc., this on the other hand doesn't even really have a story or plot at all. Rather it is more like a just a series of almost totally unrelated scenes with no central story or anything. Its like something that you would see at a modern-art museum. Therefore this may actually be the worst movie I have ever seen on account of the fact that it shouldn't even be defined as an actual "movie." I hope that the writers and director of this trash get blacklisted from hollywood..Score: 1/5
