Return to a time when men were men and swamps were swamps. Fire swamps, that is. Full of quicksand and Rodents of Unusual Size. Lagoons were inhabited by shrieking eels. And the most beautiful woman in the world was named…Buttercup? Well, it's a bent fairy tale. Complete with all the fencing, fighting, chases, escapes, and silly accents you'd expect. Plus one of two things only Rob Reiner (director of "Misery", "When Harry Met Sally...") could dream up. Like Inigo Montoya, who has dreamt his whole life of finding the six finger man who killed his father. Blonde Buttercup loves Westley, a poor stable boy. But when he's captured by pirates, she's chosen by evil Prince Humperdinck to be his princess bride. Along the way, she gets kidnapped, he gets killed. But it all ends up okay.

In this enchantingly cracked fairy tale, the beautiful Princess Buttercup and the dashing Westley must overcome staggering odds to find happiness amid six-fingered swordsmen, murderous princes, Sicilians and rodents of unusual size. But even death can't stop these true lovebirds from triumphing.

Love this movie!(I noticed In the editor's note for this movie it says Diego Montoya but it is actually Inigo Montoya. Diego was Inigo's dad who was killed 20 years earlier so he has been "studying nothing but swordplay ever since" so when he finds the 6 fingered man he will not fail and he will go up to him and say "Hello my name is Inigo Montoya. U killed my father. Prepare to die!") I had never seen it before one of my mom's best friends gave it to me and now it is one of my favorite movies ever! U would think that it would be a chick flick based on just the title alone (William Goldman did write the book for his 2 daughters, one said she wanted him to write about princesses and the other one said she wanted him to write about brides so that's how he came up with the title) but it is MUCH more than a chick flick! There is a little bit of just about everything for every interest in this movie!... Action, drama, comedy, sword fighting, R.O.U.S.s, true love, "kissing parts". All very good and talented actors and actresses in this movie. And it's clean... There is no sex, drugs, alcohol (except for the one scene of Inigo's when he went "back to the beginning". He is sitting against the wall with a bottle of alcohol and appears to be drunk, but it is still very clean and very funny) and no cussing (again... Except for the once when Inigo killed Count Rugen) a very family friendly movie! I say "As u wish" all the time now. And I tell my best friend every night that I will most likely kill her in the morning. There are so many quotable lines in this movie that are fun to say in everyday life. "Inconceivable!" "As u wish" "It's possible pig" "Good night. Sleep well. I'll most likely kill u in the morning." "Mostly dead". I recommend this movie to everyone! Definitely worth it..DaughterOfGod2004Score: 5/5

AMAZING ❤️😁🦄This movie was assigned as homework over winter break because my English teacher was shocked that most of my class had not seen this movie. I had seen it before, but forgot most of the details and wanted to seen it again. The one part I remembered SPOILER ALERT!!! Was the line “stop your rhyming and I mean it!” “Anybody wanna peanut?” Anyway, after I saw it again, I realized, this is pretty appropriate language wise, but PG with ALL THIS BLOOD???
