Suave, irresistible Joe and his hypochondriac partner Terry have escaped from prison. Cutting a swath from Oregon through California, these fugitives rob banks in order to finance their scheme for a new and somewhat legitimate life south of the border, leaving a trail of terrified bankers, bad wigs - and an adoring public - in their wake. Unfortunately, things get more complicated when they meet Kate Wheeler, an ordinary housewife sick of her boring life - who happens to run into Terry with her car. Kate joins the bandits on their cross-country spree, and eventually she steals something, too - their hearts. Both guys fall in love with Kate - and Kate falls for both of them. Joe and Terry are far from ideal on their own, but together they make up the perfect man...

Not a bad rental and wonderfully doneThis is probably one of my favorite Billy Bob Thornton movies with the exception of Bad Santa. The beginning starts out with both the robbers stuck at the Alamo bank. The story then goes to flashback through how they started their crime spree, for lack of a better word.
They never hurt anyone and you see that as word gets out that they have to start changing their tactics. Along the way while trying to steal a car, BBT runs into Cate Blanchett who is a little mentally unstable. She falls in love with Bruce Willis and then the love triangle starts to come about.
At this point, the movie seems forced and a little less fun as the beginning. What ends up happening is that Cate leaves them and goes to the police (they actually mention this near the beginning of the movie and flashback later).
This is a very good movie despite how the marketing was handled for it. It seemed to come off more as a comedy, which it never really does although you do have fun watching it. It's not so much a romance movie and you'll probably not see it on Lifetime anytime soon, but it's worth the 99 cent rental and even a purchase..Alissa914Score: 4/5

I am not a huge fan of Billy Bob, but I sure did love him in this movie. He plays a hypochondriac that thinks he is dying of a brain tumor, no thanks to some help from his accomplice/friend (played by Bruce Willis).
These two are the Sleep Over Bandits and the stuff they pull is absolutely hilarious... you need to really WATCH this movie to understand some of the parts in it.
The ending is the best part. You will not believe it when you see it!
