The Man Who Knew Too MuchHaving this the sixth Alfred Hitchcock film I've seen to date ranks somewhat dissapointing in many elements; however ranks nothing short of a decent movie. This is indeed the only film Hitchcock ever intended to remake in comparison to the original 1938 version, Hitchcock cited this in a somewhat vain mannor of how the original was the master of an "amateur" and how this update was the work of a "master". The film overall, takes place in an exotic setting far most unique then anything Hitchcock has shot within that particular time of his carrer. Originally Hitchcock was going to do a film involving a private investigator (supposively starring James Stewart) and a mysterious love interest with a woman (Grace Kelly was originally going to star), however the setting within Africa was difficult to shoot; so Hitchcock sheved the film. The storyline for this remake is significantly different from the original (even though I haven't seen the original), with the new setting and modifications with the storyline. The movie overall is decent however seems again below the standard storyline Hitchcock is going for typically. The film is indeed well acted and James Stewart and Doris Day may have a few flaws however, it ranks to be overall a decent film portraying a collapsing family stuck in a frightning situation..400 barzScore: 4/5

GoodI'm 13 and I love this movie. Despite what other people say about it being boring, cheesy and how Doris day lacked in her performance; I can not see how they can say that. A classic example of Hitchcock's uncanny ability to slowly build tension in his films.
