When young Buddy falls into Santa's gift sack on Christmas Eve, he's transported back to the North Pole and raised as a toy-making elf by Santa's helpers. Actors like Will Ferrell & James Caan made an impact on making this Christmas movie successful. Sadly earlier this year, James Caan passed away unexpectedly. Hopefully someday, there’s a decent sequel to “Elf” to pay tribute to James Caan by addressing the death of his character Walter Hobbs & describing the impact he had in this movie. “Elf” truly deserves a decent sequel that can score higher on Rotten Tomatoes & make better money, too. Deutsch Einst landete das Waisenkind Buddy zufällig im Geschenksack des Weihnachtsmanns und somit in Santas Werkstatt am Nordpol. Dort wurde er von seinen Adoptiveltern zum Elfen ausgebildet. Leider ist er inzwischen dreimal so groß wie sein Ersatzvater; und damit Buddy kein Außenseiter-Dasein unter den Elfen fristen muss, schickt man auf die Erde, wo er nach seiner wahren Familie suchen soll. Kein leichtes Unterfangen, schließlich kennt sich Buddy im Großstadtdschungel ganz und gar nicht aus, was zu jeder Menge Turbulenzen führt.
Italiano Buddy è un bambino curioso che vive in un orfanotrofio. La notte di Natale si infila nel sacco di Babbo Natale, che però se ne accorge solo una volta tornato al Polo Nord. Qui il barbuto Santa Claus diviene una specie di padre adottivo del bambino, che cresce assieme agli altri elfi. O meglio, lui cresce, mentre gli altri restano... elfi. Divenuto chiaro che Buddy non può vivere nel mondo degli elfi, viene rimandato dove è nato, alla ricerca dei suoi veri genitori. Ben presto però si accorgerà che la grande città non è fatta solo di pattinaggio sul ghiaccio e zucchero filato.

Tada Bičiulį užauginęs elfas patarė netikram sūnui keliauti pas žmones, rasti biologinius tėvus ir bandyti prisitaikyti Niujorke.

Odgajan kao vilenjak, Buddy (Will Ferrell) naposljetku ipak odrasta u čovjeka tri puta većeg i od najvećeg vilenjaka te uviđa kako se nikada neće uklopiti u život na Sjevernom polu. Ove godine Buddy odluči pronaći svoje pravo mjesto u svijetu, točnije - New Yorku. On uspije pronaći svoga pravog oca, Waltera (James Caan), koji se nalazi na listi zločestih Djeda Mraza, i desetogodišnjeg brata koji uopće ne vjeruje u djedicu s poklonima i vilenjake! Buddy shvaća kako je njegov zadatak spasiti Božić za svoju obitelj.
