Runaway JuryThis movie is a predictable Hollywood hatchet job on the firearms industry. Big bad sloppy arrogant white guy that owns the firearm company. (Aren't they all like that)? Big bad corporate crook trying to buy off the jury on behalf of the firearms company. (Doesn't that happen all the time)? The do-gooders saving children from the evil firearm industry. (I'm surprised they didn't cast Sean Penn for the part). Give us all a break. This movie bombed in the box office because of it's blatant message against guns. Deutsch Nick Easter arbeitet als Verkäufer von Videogames und interessiert sich so gar nicht für seine staatsbürgerlichen Pflichten. So ist er dann auch eher genervt als erfreut, als er eine Vorladung als Jury-Mitglied für den größten Prozess des Jahres bekommt: Celeste Wood verklagt einen Waffenkonzern, der die Waffe hergestellt hat, die ihren Mann tötete. Doch hinter den Fassaden der Verhandlung tobt ein erbitterter Krieg zwischen dem Anwalt der Anklägerin, Wendell Rohr, und dem von den Waffenherstellern angeheuerten Rankin Fitch, der um jeden Preis versucht, die Jury auf die Seite des Waffenkonzerns zu drehen – mit mehr oder weniger legalen Mitteln.
