Great film regardless of your beliefsI fell in love with this movie when I was a catholic teenager. I still love this movie as a non-religious adult. It is a true classic, and the acting and writing are what make it worth watching. Despite what you might gather from some of the other reviews here, you need not be religious or care about the religious issues in the movie to get a lot out of it. It is just a purely great film that is thought provoking no matter your beliefs..Score: 5/5
A Man who fascinates and confounds meI thought the film was pretty accurate accept when they didn't show the rest of More's daughters. Sir Thomas More I have mixed feelings about though. I'm a Roman Catholic but I don't think More should have been dubbed saint. He was a good family man and everyone liked him. Heck! I would have liked him if I talked to him since he believed in women recieving as good an education as men. But the fact is, Thomas More was a fanatic and he burned "heretics",(not that many mind you and I hope he felt bad about it) and he did not sign the oath naming Elizabeth heir to the throne and she turned out to be an awesome queen so Thomas probably died for nothing except his pride. Yet I have to admit, Thomas was an honest man and that is a rare man to find in any era. He was somewhat a good man and no one is perfect. I still don't think More deserved sainthood and being the modest, honest man that he was, I think he'd agree with me..Score: 5/5

Sir thomas more is an idiotSir thomas more didnt sign a letter so the king could divorce his wife because allegedly it was against his religious beliefs. Yet he did this out of vanity risking the lives of his entire family, in the very least leaving them homeless and without a provider in order not to contradict his faith through a technicality. Excellent movie!!!This movie is as fresh and inspiring as it was when it was first released...and will be for generations to come because the topic is a timeless one. Don't anyone listen to the review from "enemyofrome." His moniker will tell you everything you need to know about him. And besides, if he had done his homework before posting that excuse for a review, he'd have realized how unjust his words actually are. Instead, you get the Catholic-bashing, muddle-headed remarks that are typical of "enemies of Rome." Yeah, buddy...go back and watch "Kinky Boots" again...yeah, THERE's a healthy movie for ya. Masterpiece! This movie is amazing in its writing, acting, and message. One of the best movies ever, and one that is relevant today. Those who do not bend to what "enlightened" society wants to do to the institution of marriage will be treated like St. Sir Thomas and will likewise pay with their lives. Whenever the State claims the right to touch what is God's, the State puts itself above God and thus creates its own religion. Any person who holds opposing beliefs will be viewed as an enemy of the State. Charged with treason and killed just like Sir Thomas. History is already on its course to repeat itself..Score: 5/5
