From Academy Award®-winning director, Ron Howard, comes the electrifying, untold story behind one of the most unforgettable moments in history. When disgraced President Richard Nixon agreed to an interview with jet-setting television personality, David Frost, he thought he'd found the key to saving his tarnished legacy. But, with a name to make and a reputation to overcome, Frost became one of Nixon's most formidable adversaries and engaged the leader in a charged battle of wits that changed the face of politics forever. Featuring brilliant portrayals by Frank Langella and Michael Sheen, Frost/Nixon is the fascinating and suspenseful story of truth, accountability, secrets and lies.
For three years after being forced from office, Nixon remained silent. But in summer 1977, the steely, cunning former commander-in-chief agreed to sit for one all-inclusive interview to confront the questions of his time in office and the Watergate scandal that ended his presidency. Nixon surprised everyone in selecting Frost as his televised confessor, intending to easily outfox the breezy British showman and secure a place in the hearts and minds of Americans. Likewise, Frost's team harboured doubts about their boss's ability to hold his own. But as the cameras rolled, a charged battle of wits resulted.

Gripping adaptation of the stage productionHaving seen the original stage production, I was extremely impressed and moved by this adaptation. The acting from all parties developed the characters superbly, leaving you by the end of the film feeling as though you knew David Frost and, if not sympathised with then, at least understood Nixon. Once again...I don't think Ron Howard can make a bad movie and Frost/Nixon continues that tradition. I'll admit the movie started off a little slow for me but once it came down to it, it delivered where it counted. Three StarsWell not many people thought that Nixon was innocent. I say that his biggest mistake was getting caught. He should have come clean rather than fudge over it. Compelling story, but probably works better as a playThis movie is good, the director presented a clear vision and the actors' performances were interesting and realistic but it would have been better in it's original play form. Some of the fast-paced emotional drama is lost in the movie but if offers more visible character development. Frost/Nixon suffers a slight "Shakespeare-effect" in which the cinematic version is never as good as the live theater, but it's definitely worth AT LEAST a rent..Score: 3/5

Good attemptFrost Nixon was a great attempt to recreate what happened around the time our former president gave an interview fresh from resigning from the White House. My problem was Richard Nixon rambled on too much & this cost Frank Langella the Oscar! Other Than that it is great filmmaking. Ron Howard is a focused director!.Score: 3/5

Insightful and balancedI found this movie thoroughly engaging and very informative - I learned a lot about both main characters and the period under discussion. I found the characters accessible, intriguing, and well supported by the rest of the cast. The sets, props and costumes were excellent, while the lighting, at times, was weak. I was paricularly interested in the conversion of the stage play to screenplay and believe they did an excellent job. The writing and acting was powerful and nuanced. Enjoy..Score: 4/5
Watergate Through a Different LensSome might argue that Watergate has been 'done to death' as subject matter for cinema. However, this film manages to tell the story from a unique perspective quite aptly without being too preachy. The Nixon character is extraordinarily well-crafted, all at once intimidating, pitiable and palpably awkward. The interplay between the two unlikely rivals in this story is quite believable. A Rock and A Hard PlaceA fascinating comparison of two necessary evils: politics and media. Ron Howard's treatment of this dark period in American history is, I believe, fair, and the treatment of the film as partly documentary in style lends it a contemporary tone ('70s fashion and haircuts notwithstanding!).
