Boris Karloff stars in Frankenstein, as the screen's most memorable monster, in what many consider to be the greatest horror film ever made. Dr. Frankenstein (Colin Clive) dares to tamper with life and death by creating a human monster (Karloff) out of lifeless body parts. Director James Whale's adaptation of the Mary Shelley novel blended with Karloff's compassionate portrayal of a creature groping for identity makes Frankenstein a masterpiece not only of the genre, but of all time.
In 1989, a misunderstood teenager has a high school crush — who just happens to be a handsome corpse! After a set of playfully horrific circumstances bring him back to life, the two embark on a murderous journey to find love, happiness…and a few missing body parts along the way.

A true classic that still holds up!!!This movie is important for so many reasons. It's the breakout role of the great Boris Karloff. It is also the debut of makeup artist Jack Pearice who defined the monsters look. This is the monster we remember and this is the look we all compare other versions with. The story is basic and based on a stage play rather than the book. Karloffs acting takes this Monster and makes you feel sorry for him and makes you feel his pain. This movie had many parts edited out in 1933 and had a disclaimer / warning inserted as this was heavy stuff 75 years ago. Thankfully all the cut footage was restored and the movie Re-mastered so we can enjoy this true classic the way it was ment to be viewed..Score: 5/5

The film that deserves to be considered a classic!I read the book and loved it! That’s been so many years ago that I am amazed that I remember it! But that’s what makes a classic novel is when it is so good that you remember it for the rest of your life! To me, the story got not one, but TWO classic film adaptations: This wonderful gem and the 90s horror movie Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein! Which one is better? Hard to judge because both are FANTASTIC!!!.Score: 5/5

As good as they get.It is a timeless classic. A must see for any movie lover and a total must see for a classic-horror movie lover. Boris Karloff is scary but with a special something that almost makes you commit to the monster and you must know what happens. I know that sounds strange and maybe was not the intension of the movie but still I can not help but love this movie. I try never to be unfair in my reviews but the old black and white movies (in my opinion) are some of the best movies of all time. The only thing that would have made it better was a better score, but that sort of thing was just not an option when this movie was made. Recommended. xoxo.Score: 4/5
