A favorite at this year’s Cannes, Toronto and Fantastic Fest film festivals, THE HOUSEMAID is a stylish, sexy thriller about an innocent young woman caught in the twisted web of a rich family's games. Eun-yi (Cannes Best Actress winner Jeon Do-youn of SECRET SUNSHINE) is hired as a nanny in an lavish mansion by businessman Hoon (Lee Jung-jae) and his very pregnant wife, Hae-ra (Seo Woo). When Eun-yi is seduced by the father of the house, she becomes the unwitting victim in a series of traps laid by the women of the house—Hae-ra, her villainous mother (Park Ji-young), and their seemingly loyal but increasingly bitter housekeeper (Yun Yeo-jong). Intensely erotic and fiendishly entertaining, THE HOUSEMAID builds to an unforgettable climax as Eun-yi must outwit them and escape their schemes to protect her sanity—and her life—from the vicious family.
Hae-ra and her husband, Hoon, hire Eun-yi to look after their daughter. When Hoon gets Eun-yi pregnant, Hae-ra tries to kill the child. Soon, Eun-yi decides to seek revenge for the betrayal.

Not worth the trouble of watchingCinematography is nice in this movie, but the complements stop here. Characters are unnatural and the plot is just a disaster. And, if you're drawn to the promise of erotica, then prepare to see something disfunctional in the deepest sense. At least sleazy porn will get the job done....Score: 2/5
Don't get too excited!!3/4 way story before the ending part was very good but not excellent. When you watched it, there's something unique and curious about the story and the characters. And here it goes at the ending part...very disappointed. The ending was kind of rush to end the story. Overall was so so..Score: 3/5
Over RatedOk while it is a movie, in south korea adultery is against the law. both parties involved can end up in jail from anywhere between 5 to 10 years. That being said, I've seen better dramatic movies from S. Korea than this. This movie is nothing new or unque. The characters were lacking in a lot of development, and the point of view yelded very little of the position of the wife who was wronged the most. I would have to say by the end I had no pity for anyone in the whole movie eccept for the little boy. who was scarred the most I would imagine by the whole events in the film. In times of excessive amounts of disfunctional families I don't think this film does much more than endulge the gossip mongers of the world. worst film I've ever seen. Having said that I will say all the actors and actresses do a fantastic job with the roles they were given. Its a kind of film that you will eather love it or hate it...just a personal taste preference..Score: 2/5
