Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), even though he's got a beautiful wife (Kate Beckinsale) who he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life - real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. Finding himself on the run from the police – controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston), the leader of the free world – Quaid teams up with a rebel fighter (Jessica Biel) to find the head of the underground resistance (Bill Nighy) and stop Cohaagen. The line between fantasy and reality gets blurred and the fate of his world hangs in the balance as Quaid discovers his true identity, his true love, and his true fate.

Bad timing for iTunes (review of service, not movie)Today is 12/15. This movie is in my Netflix queue and releases on the 18th. I think that I might have rented this had it been available for rent sooner (I've actually checked every evening this week.) Sometimes I'm willing to pay 3.99 to watch a movie that I'm too impatient to wait for netflix to release. It's probably the distributor and not iTunes who set the release criteria, so this message is probably for them -> I think you've lost more potential revenue than you've gained by making this a purchase only title up to this point. Five star rating is for the excitement I feel for any sci-fi title, wheter it pans out or not . . . I also didn't want to be a jerk =)..HeigevScore: 5/5

Not badThis is actually a decent film. - The acting isn't anywhere near as bad as some people would lead you to believe. - The effects are well-executed and believable, if not amazing. - The story is probably truer to the Philp K. Dick story than the 1990 B-Movie classic (but still not very). Very simply: if you enjoy sci-fi, you could easily do worse. Rent it, watch it without expectations (other than a to spend the time), and you probably won't regret it. Is it "genre-defining", "mind blowing" or any other such hyperbolic nonsense? No, but most films aren't. It's entertaining, occassionally thought-provoking, and decently executed; it's no Matrix, but it's not a 'Battlefield Earth', either..SolidStateMind1Score: 4/5

Nonstop action! Enjoyed it \m/I've seen the previous Total Recall and enjoyed it. You can't compare this reincarnation to its predecessor. They're similar but very different and they need to be enjoyed separately in their own right. If you didn't enjoy this refreshing take then keep it to yourself seriously and find something positive to do, maybe put together your take of how it should have been done and then we can bash yours. A negative reviews are way off the markAs a Creative Director, I found the movie skillfully art directed throughout. The future and its technology was well depicted, The acting was more than adequate. For what it is meant to be, it has done itself a great service. It is a job well done.
