Ray Owens is sheriff of the quiet US border town of Sommerton Junction after leaving the LAPD following a bungled operation. Following his escape from the FBI, a notorious drug baron, his gang, and a hostage are heading toward Sommerton Junction where the police are preparing to make a last stand to intercept them before they cross the border. Owens is reluctant to become involved but ultimately joins in with the law enforcement efforts

It tells the story of Arnold Schwarzenegger, the sheriff of a small town, who has to defend his home against a group of ex-military guys working for a drug lord. It's the story of the underdog vs. the bad guys. That's one of my favorite tropes..Confuze16Score: 5/5
A good comedyDon’t expect anything serious in this Schwarzy movie. The whole thing has to be considered a comedy to be enjoyable. The non-sense action scenes make total sense when seen from the point of view of a comedy. None of the actors are good except Arnold but it’s ok because even the poster of the movie shows only one actor name: SCHWARZENEGGER.Shadow MachoScore: 3/5
WeakWeak movie. But, some good comedy where you need it. And that makes it a dumb thing like some of the other dumb movies. Not everyone with a camera is created a film genius. and maybe one of the movies they make multiplied by a billion may become a classic. Its a goofy film. Its ok. A solid and fun film.For once Arnold isn't wooden. He fits well into a small-town sheriff. In Terminator fashion he never gives up. There are some cool chase scenes and some great action sequences. Lots of violence. The characters are likeable and the rural setting really make this an appealing and different action film. Loved it.
**Spoiler** Only a slight issue I had was when they inserted a 1-2 second scene twice into the cornfield set, where Arnie is looking left and right. The second time they played it, it didn't match the scene, but this was the only real flaw in the film. The fight and redemption at the end was very enjoyable..FrethScore: 5/5

Český Šerif Ray Owens (Arnold Schwarzenegger) původně pracoval u losangeleské policie, ale po jedné zpackané akci skončil jako šerif ospalého městečka u mexických hranic, Sommerton Junction. Šéfovat bandě neschopných policistů v poklidné zašívárně, kde je nejvážnějším zločinem šťourání se v nose, není žádné umění. Dny plné nudy utne až telefonát agenta FBI Johna Bannistera (Forest Whitaker). Při převozu z Las Vegas do mexické věznice totiž uprchnul nebezpečný boss mexické mafie Gabriel Cortez (Eduardo Noriega). Během transportu ho vysvobodili členové jeho drogového kartelu a on se snaží prchnout do své domoviny. S pomocí kumpána Burella (Peter Stormare) a s rukojmím prchá Cortéz v našlapané Corvetě ZR 1 rychlostí 250 mil/hod k hranicím. Poslední překážkou na cestě ke svobodě je právě šerifovo městečko.
