Where's the beef?This is basically a mish-mash of clips from news reels and films from the 40's with very little analysis or intelligent commentary. Some of it is just plain wrong. They state that the transistor revolutionized life in the decade. However, while the transistor was invented at that time, it was not until the 60's that they came in to widespread use. And most strangely of all: the war is mentioned only in passing. There is a 10 - 15 minute segment on beauty parlors, for example, which mentions that some factories installed beauty parlors for its female workers because it increased productivity.That in itself pretty well sums up the intelligence level of this documentary..Score: 1/5
