Absolutely AstonishingBirdman is surreal, wonderfully directed, brilliantly acted, and utterly compelling. The whole movie is made to look like it was made without cutting. This tequnique pulls you in and does not let you out for two hours. The performances from Micheal Keaton, Edward Norton, Emma Stone and Zach Galifianakis are masterful. The jazz drumming throughout may be unrewarding for some viewers, but I loved it. If you are going to see this movie, prepare to be amazed. Simply one of the best films I have ever seen..Score: 5/5
This movie is great!Okay, do not listen to the negative reviews and hear me out for a minute. To address the reviews, I think there is a bit of confusion. One, because people see that it a comedy, they expect it to be like "laugh out loud" nonstop funny humor. If you thought of it that way, that's not your fault. More accurately, they should have called a black comedy (dark satire). It uses some satirical elements on the entertainment industry. And it also uses Drama. People have been debating on what this movie actually is. Some say it's plain comedy (which it isn't); some say it's just drama; some say it's black comedy; some say it isn't anything. It's a strange thing of its own, which is what I believe. So, if you got into this movie thinking it's something else than what it really is, I'll admit that it's partially not your fault. Number two, I see some people giving it one stars because they don't "get" the movie. Seriously? I guess most people here didn't even watch the movie. Listen to a person who actually watched the movie. Okay, people on the actual review. This movie is amazing. Plot: To put it as short as possible, Birdman is about this washed up actor, Riggan Thompson (Michael Keaton), who attempts to reinvent his career by writing, acting, and directing this play adapted by "What We Talk About When We Talk About Love". So, Riggan is struggling to prove that he is an actually good actor, and this really harsh critic is trying to ruin his play by giving him a negative review (even though she's never seen it). I won't go much into spoilers. I'll just go right into my analysis. Go check out a synopsis on Google if you want all the details. This movie is amazing to me because it makes fun of the movie industry in a way. The movie is different. This is also one of Michael Keaton's best performance. It does social commentary on the mainstream media. It tells the audience that a movie that is popular doesn't mean it's good. There's a difference between an actor and a celebrity. Success is not determined by popularity (unless you mean box office sales and commercial success, but that really doesn't say anything about the quality of a movie). Those are really just the themes of the movie. The cinematography is phenomenal. Almost every scene is shot continuous (more accurately, made to look like one shot). The acting is incredible. Everyone in the cast was spectacular. The only thing that I didn't like was the ending, and I won't spoil what happened completely. The ending is ambiguous, which can be good or bad. To some people, it's good, but it left a bad note from me. It just didn't seem right to me. So, back to the other reviews. I think a lot of people were viewing this film for the wrong reasons (part of it is not their fault because they were mislead) and they didn't catch what the movie was saying. If you guys did get the themes but didn't like the movie anyway, that's fine..Score: 5/5

A Masterpiece (nothing less)!!!I have to say this is a masterpiece! This movie is innovative, new, refreshing! This is ART! This movie is exactly what cinema should be as an extension of the Theatre. This is in my opinion the best movie of 2014 and maybe the best for the last decay or even more! It is refreshing, intelligent and funny at the same time and this is not something you see a lot coming out of Hollywood these days. It is unique and a must see! But beware if you see the title Birdman and expect some kind of super-hero action and adventure based movie. It is absolutely NOT another crapy comic-book movie and I think people who disliked this film was expecting a DC or Marvel kinda film. This is a GREAT film! This is art!.Score: 5/5
