The Unit is an action drama that follows a covert team of special forces operatives as they risk their lives on undercover missions around the globe, while their wives maintain the homefront, protecting their husbands' secrets. Jonas Blane leads the unit on missions out in the field and is responsible for taking elite new recruit Bob Brown under his wing. The Unit includes Jonas, Colonel Tom Ryan, Mack Gerhardt, Charles Grey, Hector Williams, and Bob Brown, all highly skilled soldiers, whose ability to rely on each other in life-threatening situations creates their unique brotherhood. Jonas' wife, Molly, is the base matriarch who comforts and counsels the other wives as they cope with the fear and uncertainty they experience when their husbands leave home. Molly and Tiffy Gerhardt, a wife hiding her own dark secrets, help Bob's pregnant wife, Kim, acclimate to the stress of her new secret life.

Unlike any otherThis show isn't an accurate portrayal of the military lifestyle, military uniforms, or military spouses. But never the less it is a great show... with awesome story lines, good twists, and believable action sequences. The writers have kept a step ahead of the game, and the characters develop perfectly, good enough to like, bad enough to be interesting. A great show I discovered by accidentI don't know why this show doesn't get more promotion from its network. I never would have watched it except to see what David Palmer (Dennis Haysburt) was doing after "24." It is truly one of the best shows on TV and it's getting better every season..Score: 5/5

Funny because of its lack of accuracyThis is a series worth watching purely for the comedy value. It plays haywire with European Geography (covert crossing of the border between Spain and Romania - what you say there is no common border? Really? And since Schengen you don’t have to hid in a donkey cart anymore? No ?!?!), European Politics and Law (Bulgaria is still a dictatorship in which European Law does not apply). This is a series in which five real men save humanity from its own folly with brawn and superior weapons. Everyone else clearly is an imbecile. Oh, and women know their proper place in life too. I loved it purely because it made me laugh..Score: 3/5
