The critically acclaimed and fan-favorite series, Fringe, returns for its fifth and final season to deliver a climactic conclusion... in all worlds. Picking up from events depicted in season four’s flash-forward episode (“Letters of Transit”), the seemingly peaceful Observers seized control of our universe in 2015. Now, in 2036, they have become ruthless rulers who stand unopposed. What awaits in the future, however, is the Fringe Team’s final stand, which will bring together all they have witnessed in preparation for the final battle to protect our world. Joining Fringe scientist Walter Bishop, FBI agent Olivia Dunham, Peter Bishop and the Fringe team is Olivia and Peter’s now-grown daughter, Etta, in a final season filled with struggle, surprises and sacrifice.
When an international flight lands at Boston's Logan Airport and the passengers and crew have all died grisly deaths, FBI Special Agent Olivia Dunham is called in to investigate. After her partner is nearly killed during the investigation, a desperate Olivia searches frantically for someone to help, leading her to Dr. Walter Bishop, our generation's Einstein. There's only one catch: he's been institutionalized for the last twenty years, and the only way to question him requires pulling his estranged son Peter in to help. When Olivia's investigation leads her to a manipulative corporate executive, she and her team will discover that what happened on Flight 627 is only a small piece of a larger, more shocking truth and will explore the blurring line between the possible and the impossible.

It will be sorely missedI have to admit that I am one of the people who discovered Fringe too late to do it much good in the ratings. But I have the entire series on disc and finished the last season a few days ago. If you haven't seen it do yourself a favor. Checki it out. I think it is pretty close to being the best scifi series that has appeared on television. I loved Star Gate SG1 and Firefly but I think Fringe is in a different category. More time is spent on character development and all the main characters are likeable and memorable. And the series has a point, actually several points: the dangers of technology, the power of love, the importance of family, the significance of the choices which we all make, and on and on. Some people have described it as cerebral. It isn't that at all, at least not in the negative sense in which the term is often used. It has heart. I must admit that I am actually having a little trouble enjoying any other shows right now. They seem shallow and two dimensional. Perhaps I am just having a Walter moment. I hope so. It is a sad feeling. But I am so glad that they gave the series a happy conclusion. I think my psyche might have suffered permanent damage otherwise. By the way, I worked for 25 years as a research physicist for the DOD. So some of the flagrant abuse of technology portrayed in the series really hit home. Technology + big government + big corporations = disaster..Score: 5/5

Hard to say Goodbye….It's Hard to say Goodbye to the most fantastic Sci-Fi series of our time. I have NEVER missed an episode since S1 and watched every Friday night until the final Season Finale that broke me to tears. I fell in love with the cast and characters. The concepts and journeys that take you to the depths of the mind where you find a field of infinite possibilities in an alternate universe. As Epic as Entertainment can be. Beyond "Sci-Fi" and beyond "Great"Never in my experience of (especially broadcast) TV has a show of such depth of character development, beyond AMAZING screenwriting, superb casting, flawless acting and great direction existed. I can't imagine anything on television will ever come close to the caliber of all 5 seasons of "Fringe" so for the uninitiated you are in for the ride of a lifetime, and you must start from season 1 and watch every episode in order for the full benefit of the hard work behind the storyline which will take you down the rabbit hole and into simply the most engaging show you have ever seen. Kudos for all involved in bringing a show of the highest order to viewers desperately in need of what television is capable of delivering when it wants to. Any other show in the category of speculative fiction must hold Fringe as the bar towards which they are obligated to reach. Anything less is just, well, normal tv. This is a show about family, love, courage first. The wild premises are solidly constructed and fascinating to see. I will deeply miss this show. It ends perfectly, despite all the fans' sorrow that they chose to end it. I think the fans will concur: if you do not know about Fringe, you owe it to yourself to invest here in what many will agree is the best that television has to offer, even if you are not inclined towards the genre. This is the best series out there, rivaled perhaps in quality only by the first 4 seasons of West Wing. Go for it!.Score: 5/5
A little too dark for my tastesThe previous seasons always had a degree of humour, largly contributed by Walter and his bumbling yet brillian ways, to help to couterbalance the darker aspects of the storyline. The last few episodes of season 4 and the first in season 5 are just depressing to me with very little relief or hope shining through. I know all things must change but why ruin a winning recipe in the final season..Score: 3/5

The Final SeasonFringe's final season starts strong, with the fantastic Transilience Thought Unifier Model - 11, which in particular showcases just how great an actor John Noble is. If the premiere is an indication, this could very well be the best season Fringe ever, and with any luck this show will go out with a bang. The best Sci Fi on currently on television is coming to a close, and it wont disapoint. Its a shame there is no season pass, but the price of the individual episodes isnt bad for a 13 episode season..Score: 5/5

An incomplete Show - Season 4 alternate reality!!!This is a top class show, regrettably I purchased all the seasons before realising season 4 of this incredible show was missing. Don't purchase this show until season 4 is included it will only drive you mad, I have purchased season five and I can't watch it without seeing season 4. Congrats to iTunes for getting the show, it's been a long wait. But the package is incomplete. iTunes is asking us - to borrow an analogy that fits to Watch 2 weeks of Wimbledon until the Quarter Finals skip the semi-finals and watch the Final.
