We continue from the last episode with Colonial Raptors battling Cylon Raiders as they plummet toward the planet Kobol. Tyrol, Crashdown, and their ground crew swarm to save people from a burning Raptor. Dr. Baltar is aboard the Raptor and seems doomed until Number Six guides him out of the flames. He is saved and grateful, but already it's clear that Number Six is guiding him to something bigger. She seems to be guiding him to his destiny. On Galactica, Gaeta shares his work on the Cylon transponders with Adama and Tigh. The transponder devices identify themselves to each other. This is great news for the fleet as they can use a device to fool the Cylons and destroy their base ship. Adama tells Laura that Kara is working on a plan to use the Cylon Raider to accomplish this goal. Laura expresses concern over using the Raider as she wanted to use it herself. Adama firmly reminds her - that’s not going to happen. Laura works quickly now. She talks to Billy about her belief in the prophecies, but Billy reminds her that she's embracing a "drug-induced vision of prophecy." Laura moves on to Lee. She conveys her belief that the scriptures have led them to Kobol, and will lead them to Earth. Lee listens, but he won't budge. He will follow his father's command. Laura's next target is Kara, someone whom she knows will respond to scriptural quotation. At first, Kara thinks Laura's plan to go to Caprica is lunacy and she balks at the idea. So Laura plays rough. She informs Kara that Adama doesn't really know the way to Earth. Just ask him..

I love it.Several friends of mine kept recommending that check I out Battlestar Galactica. Every Monday morning, groups of people would be discussing the last episode at the watercooler. In 2006, I decided to download the Miniseries just to see what the hype was all about, and I was hooked. The miniseries is excellent, and the TV program doesn't disappoint. LOVE BSGI started out watching BSG with my husband, but I was hooked. I have now watched from season one to the finale. The acting is first rate, the characters can be loved and hated. Cylons are evil and dangerous, but beautiful ( Yes that is you 6). Kara Tharace..... Starbuck is one of the most empowered women on the television today. No weak females in this series and really drop the word frack in conversation, see who else is on the BSG ride with you!! Watch it, fall in love with it and see how it ends, you will be surprised by the twists and turns aboard BSG..Score: 5/5
3 Stars for iTunes and its screwy transfers, 4 for the show.My vote is based on Apple's lack of quality control over the transfers for its episodes, something I find to be unprofessional and irritating. The first episode was 4:3. The second episode was incorrectly cropped to 16:9! The top and bottom of what was a 4:3 frame was incorrectly letterboxed. In other words, Apple's people accidentally chopped off characters' heads and most of the captions! It is borderline unwatchable. Then with the third episode we're back to 4:3. The aspect ratio of the originals are 1.78:1 (i.e. widescreen), and that's the way they should be presented here. Apple needs to start acting like the company they claim to be: the best multi-media platform provider for consumer and professional alike. I have not finished watching the season yet, but these poor and inconsistent transfers so far are disappointing. I wish I bought the DVD's instead. Do yourself a big favor and go with the DVD's instead of the instant gratification of iTunes' irresponsible presentation of an otherwise great program. And if you purchased this like me and are disappointed as well, do us all a favor and complain to Apple. It's the only way they'll get their act together. UPDATE: I brought my complaints and the problems with the program to Apple's attention, and I have been fully refunded. I really have to give them my respect for the professionalism. Again, I reiterate that if there are other people out there unhappy with the quality, let Apple know. It is the only way that they will improve the quality of the video material on iTunes..Score: 3/5

Best In ClassDon't let the spaceships or the camp original get to you, Battlestar Galactica could quite possibly be one of the best dramas ever made ever. Manages to be topical, interesting and realistic, even if it deals in science fiction and some fantastical themes throughout. Some people felt the later episodes lost focus, but hang in to the end and it'll be worth it and some of the most rewarding tv around. Such a great story. I skipped the mini series and just started with episode 1, 33. I learnt the characters and themes through the show, and only went back to the mini series as a filler after series 2. Watch this season...it is all downhill from here!Season 1 is great. Great plots, wonderful themes and some very good acting. Unfortunately, I suspect the analogies and "messaging" are a bit too sophisticated for the average American viewer--a frequent problem when productions use a combination of British and American writers, producers and actors. The writers and producers may think this show is a wonderful commentary on America's War on Terror and the debasement of civil liberties in the quest to "preserve society", but I wonder how many people have picked up on that. One other reason to watch Season 1--it is all downhill from here. After Season 1, the series degenerates into a soap opera. Indeed, if I had stopped after Season 1 I might have agreed that BSG was one of the greatest TV shows ever produced. Sadly, Seasons 2, 3 and 4 transformed it into another show made for a fringe network with a viewership smaller than Judge Judy..Score: 4/5

Modern day classicOne of the best TV series to be made. The only tv drama that I've ever watched through more than once. You don't have to be a fan of SCI-FI to enjoy this, there are no aliens, no teleorter-dimension jumping and no time travel events.
