Commander Adama (Edward James Olmos) returns to a hero's welcome and an unenviable task: In order to maintain control of the fleet, he must track down his son, Lee, and President Roslin, who have escaped (with Tom Zarek’s (Richard Hatch) help) into hiding somewhere in the fleet. Adama orders all ships in the fleet searched. Meanwhile, Lee (Jamie Bamber) and Roslin (Mary McDonnell) prepare to send a message to the rest of the fleet seeking popular support. When the time comes, however, Lee can't bring himself to publicly condemn his father. With no other choice, Roslin plays "the religious card" to save the human race. She declares herself to be the voice of the prophet Pythia. Her announcement sends shockwaves throughout the fleet's population. Finally, unable to hide any longer, her ship makes the jump back to Kobol, where she plans to seek the road to Earth. To the surprise of many on the Galactica, and to Roslin herself, nearly one-third of the fleet follows her to Kobol. Far away, on Cylon-occupied Caprica, Kara (Katee Sackhoff) goes on recon with the resistance fighters and is wounded in a firefight. She finds herself being nursed back to health by Simon, an attentive doctor who tells that she can better serve the human race by having babies than by fighting Cylons. When Kara awakens with a new scar, though, she begins to suspect that neither Simon nor the hospital are what they seem. Sneaking out of her locked room, she discovers that Simon is a Cylon, and she kills him. Making a bid for freedom, she stumbles upon a chilling sight: a room full of women, including resistance fighter Sue-Shaun (Tamara Lashley), wired up by the Cylons to serve as baby machines..

OH MY GODS!Yes, I watched the original series and for that reason alone, I did not start watching this new series because I felt there were more important things to do in life than watch a cheesy low budget, low acting show. OH MY GODS! There is nothing more important for me to do in life than to come home and watch another episode. I can't stop watching. And it's gonna really hurt when I actually get fully caught up and then have to wait each week for the new ones. With the wildfire momentum this show has built, they could even pull off a theater movie down the road. And my wife, who pretty much hates all things sci-fi, is just as glued as I am to the show..Score: 5/5
The new standard in sci-fi!BSG has to be the most intelligent and thought provoking series to grace the televison screen under the banner of sci-fi/drama. I truly think that BSG has raised the bar in much the same way that Babylon 5 did in the mid 90's. ITunes video quality issues with episodes 12-20From episode 12 on, the encoding of the video is noticably inferior to the miniseries, season one and the first 11 episodes of season two. It looks like it was upscaled from 320x240. It is telling that the first 11 episodes start with the Sci-Fi channel interstitial and that the from 12 on they don't. Halfway through the season and better than everAs a huge science fiction fan, I can report that the new Battlestar Galactica is the be all and end all. From the gritty special effects to the excellent acting and writing, the fact that a science fiction presentation can be so engrossing on a 2 1/2" screen speaks volumes. The show is intelligently written and presented and assumes that the viewer is intelligent as well; the show never talks down to the audience. You actually believe that these worlds were destroyed and that these are desperate people; they even have a difficult to satisfy press. And Richard Hatch is redeemed! It is great fun to watch the former "Apollo" plot and scheme. If Season 4 really is the last season, we better start savoring the remaining episodes, because this kind of quality is a truly rare occurrence..Score: 5/5
Careful--Season 2 no longer available in HDThe show is fantastic, like many others have said, but I feel I need to warn people that apparently Season 2 episodes are no longer available in HD, although they were a few weeks ago---when I bought episode 8 a few weeks ago it was high def. for $2.99 but now only $1.99 standard def episodes are available.
