Campy - Over The Top Geeky - And Quite Charmingly CuteSupergirl is quirky - witty and real cute. CBS should of did a better background check on the chick who does SuperGirl. I have nothing against (I wish 😜) any actress who does nudity but it's a huge detour when one considers the role she's portraying now. Unless they get more realistic based stories then I don't see this series succeeding at all. Human interest with something truly new or with a definite twist then the door will remain wide open. Builds up to become superThe first few episodes, the show wobbles and tries to find its footing, which parallels Kara's journey to become Supergirl. For me, "Red Faced" demonstrated how powerful this character is. She is so much more than a female Superman. She remembers her life on Krypton, and under her optimistic and cheerful demeanor lies someone who misses her previous world - her home, her family, her friends. This show is able to show both sides of Kara, which prevents her from becoming the cliché "angsty" hero, and demonstrates to the viewer how incredible she is, not only for her her heroics, but also for how she is able to gracefully live her life as Kara Danvers (and as Supergirl) while balancing her underlying loneliness. Melissa Benoist exceeds all expectations when portraying these various sides of Kara. Additionally, Calista Flockhart's Cat Grant is more than the boss in "The Devil Wears Prada," and becomes a mentor to Kara and her alter-ego Supergirl; Cat Grant's one-liner quips are often scene-stealers, and they often cause me to burst into laughter. I'm glad the show is moving to the CW - they will hopefully give this show the super treatment it deserves..Score: 5/5
You should trust the later reviews.It's amazing the amount of reviews that try to write the show off after one episode. The show has it's faults, but it smooths over them pretty quickly. After episode five, it starts to get really good..Score: 5/5
BEST POSSIBLE TV SHOW FOR THIS GENERATIONI loved Supergirl from the moment I saw the first episode. I love the fact that it's not all about violence. Give it a shot, it’s really worth itIt has a rocky start, sure, but this is by far the best superhero show on TV right now. It’s found its footing, the acting is amazing (Melissa Benoist KILLS IT week after week), and the storyline is getting clearer every time. I really hope they get a season 2!! What happened to cheaper SD episodes?Just bought episode 18 in SD (only $1.99, and less than 700MB of space on my old MacbookPro). Went back to buy Ep.19... But all of a sudden, episodes 1-17 show up in SD, then the list starts over at Pilot and goes to Ep.20, but only in HD. So 1-17 SD, 1-20 HD. 18-20 WERE in SD a day ago. i'm not paying an extra buck per episode and run out of drive space. Can I please buy SD?.Score: 5/5
Worth Watching The Entire SeasonLike most pilot episodes, it starts off a little rough around the edges. But once the staff settles in and begins to find their own version of who these characters should be, each episode gets better. I've never got into reading comic books, so I cannot compare this series to the DC Comic book versions. What I can say, is that I find the TV series of Supergirl a great show for younger kids because of all the teachable moments throughout each episode. The special effects are pretty close to movie version worthy (I went and saw Batman v. Superman, and honestly, the special effects in that movie are the same in the Supergirl TV series). And maybe, special effects aren't worth mentioning since the technology has become so much more advanced that it is compatable from theatre to television, but I find it pretty impressive. All in all, I find Supergirl to be wholesome television show that the whole family can sit down and watch..Score: 5/5
