Great casting, slick direction, sharp editing and an impressive budget transform your viewing into a depiction of a real life transition to the 1960's. It looks better than Back to the Future ever did with the 50's era. Set in the present, 11.22.63 tells the story of English teacher who inadvertently stumbles across a time portal and transports him back to 1960 on a quest to prevent the assassination of JFK! But somehow in all this, time itself does not want to be changed and forces try to prevent our hero from completing his quest. This director is in an alternate universeReally disappointing. Loved the book and was looking forward to a cinematic re-telling of the story. Bought the season pass too quickly. Barely made it through the first 2 episodes. Acting is OK. James Franco may not be ideal casting but heā€™s not bad. Direction is terrible. Slow. Boring. Designed to stretch out the story - often with no connection to the story. Not sure Iā€™m going to waste my time watching the rest. Don't make the same mistake I didI purchased far too quickly. I should have just bought the first episode to see if I would really enjoy it. I was disappointed by it. Though not terrible I just expected more from names like J.J. Abrams and Stephen King collaborating. However I think its main problem lies with the one who sat in the directors chair. I had to force myself to get through the bulk of the series hoping the story would pick up pace, and it does deliver in the end. Im a James Franco fan and I really like his movies but I feel the role of Jake Epping was not for him.
