Loved it!I absolutely adored this movie! It's a remake and reimagining, so it's obviously going to be different from the original, which isn't a TERRIBLE thing. The original, while a cult classic to certain generations, may not appeal all that much to the current generation (outside of hipsters). This reimagining takes the original and remixes it to attract the youth of today, and it succeeds in doing it! Same script with little callbacks to the original, a DIVERSE cast - something the original lacks - same songs with good vocals, with just more modern sets and costumes. It's all so good, the cast so easily is enjoying themselves with their purposefully over-the-top perfromances and fun songs, and it really is such a joy to watch! Loved it!.Score: 5/5

Probably sounded good in a pitch...I can see this now... let's remake RHPS and let's get a cast of 2016 gender bending actors for a gender-fluid movie. With that pitch it seems that Laverne Cox is the most famous trans actor so a perfect fit. Except she can't sing. It was painful and to be fair, she never should have been cast. Tim Curry is quirky, but have no doubt that he can belt it as Dr Frank. And while some others in the cast could sing -Adam lambert- he brought nothing to the role of riff raff other than apparently being able to sing and out. Horribly cast. Attempted to capture low budget look from 1975 by just looking cheap. Badly directed. Looked more like a video of a high school stage musical than a movie. And yes I've seen RHPS many times and while it's been a loooong time, it was a semi weekly trip to the village for the Saturday midnight show on 9th street. So if you've never heard the songs before, never saw the movie, don't care to see a professional movie and are tone deaf, this is for you. Otherwise skip it. I wish I had..Score: 1/5
