Cancer-stricken President Laura Roslin (Mary McDonnell) lies near death in Galactica's emergency room. Still lucid and in command, she orders that the pregnancy of the Cylon Sharon (Grace Park) be terminated when unexplainable properties are discovered in a fetal blood sample. Gaius Baltar (James Callis), who, as vice-president, is poised to take over the presidency, argues that a half-human, half-Cylon child would make an ideal case study. And the child's father, Helo (Tahmoh Penikett), is stunned by the decision. Admiral Adama (Edward James Olmos) is determined to carry out Roslin's final decree until Baltar discovers that the hybrid blood cells may have fantastic healing abilities. Meanwhile, an underground group of Cylon sympathizers resort to sabotage to deliver their message – humanity must broker peace with the Cylons. Adama arrests their leader, Royan Jahee (Paul Perri), but the group continues its violent rampage, bombing the tylium refinery and leaving the fleet vulnerable to enemy attack. An even more ominous threat emerges when Baltar once again connects with Gina (Tricia Helfer) – a flesh and blood version of the Cylon "Six" who lives in his head. Gina has infiltrated the sympathizers in an effort to promote the Cylon agenda. After realizing that Laura had little faith in his abilities to fill her shoes as President – and may indeed know of his affiliation with Caprica Six – Baltar discreetly arranges for a nuclear weapon to fall into the hands of Gina and the Cylon sympathizers, leaving Adama and his fleet at great risk..

Excellent show... mixed qualityI recently got into Battlestar Galactica and have purchased the first two seasons off itunes. It was my first tv purchase and was a little nervous with what to expect with the quality. The first season was "near DVD" as promised, and was happy with it. Season two however hasn't had a consistant quality control over their episodes though. Several episodes show interlancing, rather than having a pulldown introduced. And worse, episode 12 through 15 are ATROCIOUS in quality. The quality is so poor I'm almost tempted to download those episodes illegally just to have a high quality version. I went to itunes to support the show, and also because I expect a high standard in compression and quality. I'm a little scared to buy season 3 because if more episodes are of this quality, then I might as well go back to getting my episodes via other, less "respectable" means..Score: 3/5
Send an itunes request for season 3Instead of commenting on here you should go to apples website do a search for itunes requests and send a request for them to bring season 3 back. I believe that is how the Farscape fans got them to but up seasons 2 and 3 of Farscape up within a month..Score: 5/5

Uncanny military realismI am an Army JAG, and to see the detail surrounding the legal proceedings when they from time to time arise is astounding. Admiral Cain even calls herself the senior "convening authority," an obscure detail no civilian attorney would ever know. Great show..Score: 5/5
Halfway through the season and better than everAs a huge science fiction fan, I can report that the new Battlestar Galactica is the be all and end all. From the gritty special effects to the excellent acting and writing, the fact that a science fiction presentation can be so engrossing on a 2 1/2" screen speaks volumes. The show is intelligently written and presented and assumes that the viewer is intelligent as well; the show never talks down to the audience. You actually believe that these worlds were destroyed and that these are desperate people; they even have a difficult to satisfy press. And Richard Hatch is redeemed! It is great fun to watch the former "Apollo" plot and scheme. If Season 4 really is the last season, we better start savoring the remaining episodes, because this kind of quality is a truly rare occurrence..Score: 5/5

IT keeps getting better!!This is my favorite show on television. The depth of the character development and the small seeds that are planted in season 1 that take root in this season are briliantly planned. Everyone that I have let borrow season 1 gets hooked. Season 3 is the even better than this season, and season 4...wow. Can't wait until jan when it starts back up..Score: 5/5

Brilliant Sci-Fi action/drama exceeds expectationsI watched the mini-series premier with high expectations and was thoroughly impressed, so I was thrilled to read that it would become a series. This show rocks!!! The cast rocks!!! The similarities to the original are well done like the finding of the Pegasus but with an interesting twist. Having the episodes downloadable on iTunes is great as I expect to get only a chosen bunch.(for now)..Score: 5/5
