Gorgeous filmingThe opening is spectacular, as a snow leopard pounces on a blue sheep...but this is unlike any other kill you will ever see, as the cat and it's prey fall over 200 feet on a rocky Himalayan mountain. The entire series thus far is a visual wonder. The narration is well done but unfortunately tries too hard to tie global warming, now called climate change, into every scene. Despite this, anyone who loves nature and videography will find the series to be worth your time..Score: 5/5

Beautiful but Waay OvercookedThe dramatic music that has typically been reserved for kill scenes and moments of inflection in past nature documentaries were utilized here for each and every second of this docu-series. It also pushes a significant climate change agenda, which I am not in disagreement with, but I also like watching these shows without feeling a desire to walk into oncoming traffic. In addition, as the series wore on, the viewer is increasingly bombarded with story lines that seem to drive the same persuasive âsky is fallingâ agenda. With even failed predator hunts being blamed on the rising water temp or increase in severe weather activity, and the nonstop loud uptempo score, I found it hard to focus on the otherwise gorgeous the cinematography! I am constantly astounded by the leaps and bounds in lens and camera tech since Blue Planet, Life and Planet Earth. That said, I found all the âadd-insâ associated with post shoot editing to be poorly done; especially the score. I like Bear Gryllâs voice and accent, but I feel that this series reflects negatively on his potential to replace the lion that is Attenborough. Wish they would re-edit and re-release. Pass on this one in its current format...Score: 1/5
Bear Grylls vs David AttenboroughThis was a bit like a National Geographic version of Planet Earth (I & II) in terms of structure, quality and scenery. In fact, many scenes and animal behaviors shown here were very similar to those of previous great BBC Earth natural history programs. One difference of course is Bear Grylls as the presenter instead of David Attenborough, so a bit different angle and perspective ;-).Score: 5/5

Amazing SeriesDon't miss out on this incredible series. Wasn't sure about how good it would be but now I am eagerly waiting for Season 2. Finale is tonight at 9 5/6/19. I hope they have a 10 part series if this documentary is renewed. Neat geo would be crazy not to do so.Score: 5/5
