Nancy Drew is a brilliant teenage detective whose sense of self had come from solving mysteries in her hometown of Horseshoe Bay, Maine — until her mother's untimely death derails Nancy's college plans. Devastated by her mother's passing, Nancy swears off crime-solving while crossing off the days until she can re-apply to college. But when a socialite is murdered, Nancy finds herself a prime suspect in the crime, along with a group of other teens present at the scene: Nancy's nemesis from high school, George Fan; a rich girl with a mysterious past, Bess Marvin; Nancy's secret boyfriend, Ned 'Nick' Nickerson; and amiable burnout Ace. The five of them must team up to clear their own names, encountering emotional entanglements and even more mysteries along the way. Nancy's reawakening brings her into conflict with her widowed father, Carson Drew, who is dating Detective Karen Hart. And, when a supernatural presence begins to haunt Nancy's investigation, she discovers that the current crime has an astonishing connection to the long unsolved murder of a local girl. Whether the ghost is here to help, or hinder Nancy remains to be seen, but one thing's for sure: Nancy's going to have to unravel the clues from both the living and the dead to solve the crimes..

A different take on Nancy Drew from the book.Be prepared for a little grittier Nancy Drew. She is more relevant and contemporary while being a little more teenage type show. She believes in good old fashion detective work, spiritual (yes spiritual worlds) and is not yet in touch with her past family and personal scars . This is a total different take on the Nancy Drew I grew up with, but I loved it ! I felt it had something for everyone!.Score: 5/5

Love the show. Starting to hate Apple!I love the show! But I purchased the season pass. And today, the day after the show aired. The episode is available on iTunes for purchase. But it isn’t showing that I already purchased it and that I’m able to watch it. It shows I have to purchase it. Between this and ITunes recently not always having shows available to watch the next day after they air, I’m really starting to hate Apple. It used to be my favorite way to buy/stream movies and shows. But lately they’re doing a terrible job. And I’ve seen so many other reviews from people having these same issues. With so many streaming services available, this doesn’t seem like the smartest move by Apple to not have all their stuff running smoothly, like it used to. Because when I’ve had issues I’ve gone and looked at Amazon and they have the shows available. So going forward, I may just have to purchase shows from them instead. By the way, I recently found out, you can watch Nancy Drew and other CW shows for FREE, the day after they air, on the CW app. You can even download the app on your AppleTV for free. And then you don’t have to worry about paying for something and then it not being made available to you..Score: 5/5
Good if you want teen drama, terrible if you want mysteryThis show could have been good with a slow buildup to the big mystery, but it's all about packing as many DRAMATIC moments into 42 minutes. SEASON 2 NOW!I love this show! I’m a huge fan Nancy Drew and all the books. In the first two eps, there are Easter eggs and clippings where Nancy already solved the mysteries from the books! Not the sameI loved the Nancy Drew books as a child, and remember even writing a report on it. But this new drama is totally different. It is a great mystery drama, but if you are wanting to have a flash back from the books, it may disappoint you. Nancy is not the Nancy we remember.
