Best in the west, south, east, and north.Amazing. This show does everything so well. I love the clock and I love how they planned out the commercial breaks. I have always wanted to watch a show that took place in real time. Now I can. Thank you for making this! Kiefer Sutherland plays Jack Bauer so well and the plot and character development are so intricate that it only makes the show more intense. Kudos to the director. So addicting!Obviously this show has been on for years - I just got into it recently watching a couple episodes from a later season. I decided I wanted to start from season 1. There is no point in downloading the episodes 1 and a time because you WILL want the entire season. So much going on that it will keep you on the edge of your seat! I just wonder how people go with having to wait a week in between episodes! I can barely stand a few hours for sleep!.Score: 5/5
Great opener to a great series!!!24 is one and will always be one of my favirote shows on TV. Kiefer Sutherland,Dennis Haysbert,and Carlos Bernard I thought did great throughout the seasons. Thoughts and Review: lgreat opening seasons really showed off how crazy the plot twists and endings can be. Only issue would be the Terri and Kim Bauer parts can get really annoying. The Palmer family really hits home and is really heartbreaking at times. More Holes than Swiss Cheese but...Kiefer Sutherland is excellent. One star. Most of the cast is great and it's fun to see Dennis Hopper, Jon Voight and a few other familiar faces. Second star. It kept me interested and had some good thrills. Third star. But... The character of Kim Bauer is one of the most annoying I've ever seen on TV. And her mother's not much better. Why does this show have so many annoying female characters? So no fourth star. And finally: why so many holes? Are we really to believe that Govt. agents have no common sense. I can suspend my disbelief if the show gives me reason to (humour being a good reason) but too often I was wondering how the writers expect audiences to believe the dumb moves some of the characters make. And sometimes there were such huge holes in the plot you could drive a fully armoured Hummer through them. I think audiences expect more intelligent plots these days. No fifth star. Overall: better than many Hollywood productions but it falls short of being the great show it could've been. And Season 1 is supposed to be one of the best seasons of 24. Perhaps I'll watch a later season to see if they worked out the wrinkles. And perhaps to enjoy more of Kiefer Sutherland's acting..Score: 3/5

HD version loses A LOT of image areaBE WARNED if you are buying the HD version. About 10% of the height and 10% of the width has been cropped out compared to the standard quality version. Lots is lost, it is such a downgrade when you are supposedly getting an upgrade. Don't stand for this. Great show though, but the cropping for HD is not on..Score: 2/5

Great first season!This is without doubt one of the greatest and most innovative series ever to appear on TV and is also one that has made Kiefer Sutherland a house-hold name in the process. This debut season is arguable the best as it set the bench mark for subsequent series; moreover, its twists and turns throughout its entirety make it a definate must watch. This season is set on the day of a Presidential Primary and Jack must protect Senetor David Palmer from an assassination plot, and rescue his family from those responsible for the plot, who seek retribution for Jack's and David Palmer's involvement with a covert US mission in the Balkans. This is a definate must watch!.Score: 5/5
Fantastic seriesI am so glad I have at least 5 more series to go! I bought the episodes one at the time which was not cost effective. My recommendation is if you like the first episode (you definitely will) then buy the series all in one go. Its cheaper and you can watch as many episodes as you like without waiting for downloads....Score: 5/5
