More Holes than Swiss Cheese but...Kiefer Sutherland is excellent. One star. Most of the cast is great and it's fun to see Dennis Hopper, Jon Voight and a few other familiar faces. Second star. It kept me interested and had some good thrills. Third star. But... The character of Kim Bauer is one of the most annoying I've ever seen on TV. And her mother's not much better. Why does this show have so many annoying female characters? So no fourth star. And finally: why so many holes? Are we really to believe that Govt. agents have no common sense. I can suspend my disbelief if the show gives me reason to (humour being a good reason) but too often I was wondering how the writers expect audiences to believe the dumb moves some of the characters make. And sometimes there were such huge holes in the plot you could drive a fully armoured Hummer through them. I think audiences expect more intelligent plots these days. No fifth star. Overall: better than many Hollywood productions but it falls short of being the great show it could've been. And Season 1 is supposed to be one of the best seasons of 24. Perhaps I'll watch a later season to see if they worked out the wrinkles. And perhaps to enjoy more of Kiefer Sutherland's acting..Score: 3/5

Worth it without a doubt!Alright my first written review and for a reason: Simply the best show ever! I will not spoil any of the MANY twists and action scenes for you, but all I can say is WOW! Yeah this is good TV but doesn't live up to the hypeTaken on it's own merit it's a very good TV show. However, I was expecting so much more from this after hearing about it for so long. Great series, Naff price!Fantastic series, I've been hooked ever since wathching it on BBC and like how they introduce new characters throughout them. As far as season 1 goes I thoroughly enjoyed it and would put it as my second favourite behind season 4. That said however, i wouldnt ever pay £31 for it, even a quick search on ebay says I can get it for £17.99 Buy it Now with discs and box. 3/5 stars purely for the outragous price..Score: 3/5

Great first season!This is without doubt one of the greatest and most innovative series ever to appear on TV and is also one that has made Kiefer Sutherland a house-hold name in the process. This debut season is arguable the best as it set the bench mark for subsequent series; moreover, its twists and turns throughout its entirety make it a definate must watch. This season is set on the day of a Presidential Primary and Jack must protect Senetor David Palmer from an assassination plot, and rescue his family from those responsible for the plot, who seek retribution for Jack's and David Palmer's involvement with a covert US mission in the Balkans. This is a definate must watch!.Score: 5/5
