It became an addiction for meI had heard about this series and I tried watching one I couldn't stop I had to watch them all I just finished the second season I can't wait for the third season. I'm so sorry that they stopped making deadwood after three seasons that could have kept going forever the acting is unbelievable you actually feel like you're living in that part of American history hopefully they make a deadwood movie or better yet make a season 4 by those they say all good things come to an end my compliments to the people who work on deadwood may there be more programs as good as this but I doubt it.Score: 5/5
Well worth your timeThis is a great show with great characters that have many sides.....and has the caliber of actors to combine with the great writing. my fav character would have to be al swearengen but thats a givin but after him id have to go with the doctor i just like the character he has what ethics a good doctor could have in a time and place called deadwood...Score: 5/5

Amazing!This is an amazing serious. By far one of my favorites from HBO. This characters are so brilliant and complex. Each episode will not only captivate and entertain you, it will do so while at the same time causing you to hate, fear, laugh, disdain and rejoice. A truly powerful series! Even old ladies love DeadwoodMy Great Books Discussion Group started a Deadwood Group after the last season ended. There were a couple of us who had become hooked on the series and we convinced the others to give it a try. We met weekly at one member's house and watched the DVDs. We saw 2 episodes at a time and by the end of the first episode everyone was addicted. The language didn't bother us because everyone was so dazzled by the amazingly Shakespearean dialogue, characterization and plotting of the series, the acting, the sets and the depiction of history as it most likely was - with no Hollywood nonsense. We are all in our 60's and most of us are retired English teachers. I agree with the others. It was tragic to see it end but go ahead and get this series and watch it with friends!.Score: 5/5
BUY ITIt is hard to describe to those who have not seen Deadwood how great a series it was. I once described it to a friend as the most awesomely ruthless, smart, violent, and wonderful show I'd ever seen. I'm sad it only lasted the three seasons, but maybe that just stopped it before it could wear out. Always good, always surprising, and above all--entertaining. As for the price, last I saw this season at a major retail store I believe it was 75 dollars, so 3 bucks an episode is not THAT crazy....Score: 5/5
