One of the best shows everAs others have said, watching this show will give you a new perspective on what it is to be a human, a man or a woman, and an American. In my opinion, one of the most profound and fundamentally American works of art in the history not just of television but of our nation. The only thing that keeps this from being a perfect television show is that circumstances conspired to deny it a proper ending. Deadwood made many lists of the top shows of the 2000–2009 decade, and I doubt anybody who's seen it will disagree. As a warning, it is extremely crude and violent. The treatment of women is cringeworthy and abhorrent, though I found a lot to relate to and admire in the women of the show. Like the men, they are surviving and trying to improve their stations by every means available to them. Deadwood is raw human potential, beauty and darkness together. It contains a few scenes of shocking violence that I tend to wish I hadn't seen, but they are never gratuitous. Even if you don't like the swearing and the violence, it's worth sitting through it..Score: 5/5

HBO cancelling Deadwood was the STUPIDEST idea ever.....EVER....and now you give us True Blood and Eastbound which, compared to Deadwood, are both polished t**ds!!!! To the person who rated Deadwood one star and said it has no plot and all they do is cuss: YOU PROBABILY HAVE AN IQ OF 70 AND YOU GO TO CHURCH TOO MUCH.....they probabily cussed twice as much in reality, go watch the little mermaid or something with a plot you can follow..Score: 5/5
The Greatest Show of All Time - Bar None.Don't hesitate, buy it. This is the greatest show ever. The depth of the characters, the plot lines, the visual masterpiece of the camera work and lighting. You can't go wrong here. I have these on DVD and I've watched the entire series 4 times!! It just keeps on giving... my only warning is that watching this show might make you more fearless in your everyday life than you would normally be. To HBO: Why would you create the best show of all time and then do us the disservice of never finishing it? Give Milch 6 more episodes to finish it. Or make the movies. Outstanding TelevisionI am a HUGE fan of this show; the characters and setting are incredible. It takes a couple episodes to get into the story itself, but after that I was addicted. Definitely worth watching, but start from the beginning!.Score: 5/5

Shows like this don't come along too often....I too became very attached to these characters and couldn't wait to see who did what to whom next...Gritty,funny,touching.
