Greatest Show... Ever?Okay. So I can't very well leave you with simply that statement so let's break it down. Let's go through the stuff that makes it believable: Special Effects - Simple enough... The effects always look real, and real cool. 5 stars Acting - Every single character being played is completely believable. They convey emotion and vulnerability in ways you cant imagine until you see it. 5 stars (duh) Now the stuff that makes this shoe more than just your average brilliant show. Plot - The plot line of this show isn't just engaging. It's systematic complexity, creative drives and realistic turns make the show more than just interesting. They make it thought provoking, inspiring, and in the simplest sense. Intelligent. Not only that, but in my view, the show actually plays out like a long movie. Every second of it, you always feel as if your making some progress, whether your in the beginning, middle or end. And though it was painful to see it's end? I say with complete confidence that it wasn't too stretched. Or too soon. It was perfect, right until the credits. 5 stars The Genre - Sci-Fi will never be the same. Battlestar Galactica took an entirely new approach to Sci-Fi. They created a show that was a wake up call to it's viewers with it's startlingly realistic yet at times painfully dark self-representation, and bluntly obvious character flaws that makes me say to it's new viewers - Be prepared to be caught off guard. Over and over again, don't let yourself alienate it because of it's bluntness. Allow yourself to be taken by it. 5 stars The Message - With it's many political, religious and philosophical views, many people find it slightly abrasive to watch, and often take it into personal views and once again alienate the show because of it's statements. Here's how it works. Each message deriving from these values in this show began as an idea that eventually blossomed into what became realistic and thought provoking for the situation. And, it is one of the greatest things that makes this show more than just a show. It's message is to be received without bias, and to be mulled around and accepted, rejected, or changed, to fit ones own opinion, and regardless. It's a beautiful message to receive. 5 stars All in all, Battlestar Galactica is beyond the shadow of a doubt a MUST SEE. Greatest show ever? It's my opinion. I look foreword to you agreeing with me after you've completed it. So Say We All..Score: 5/5

A Great Show. Gutted in its Final SeasonLike many shows with an overarching story arc, Battlestar Galactica tied itself up in plot knots over time. In this case, the writers decided to cut through the knots rather than unravel them. By the time it’s over, major characters are suddenly and inexplicably revealed to be cylons, angels, and ghosts, and what appeared to be great and heroic victories in earlier episodes turned out to be nothing more than the unfolding of a divine plan. The result was, for many, many of the show’s admirers something not merely unsatisfying but more akin to betrayal: Ron Moore promised “naturalistic” science fiction, but ended up delivering us a (literally) Deus Ex Machina conclusion preachier than Sunday morning television. Most incredibly of all, Moore built this season (and one episode of the last) around a song by Bob Dylan. I can hardly believe those words as I write them, but it actually happened. The best episodes of Season Four concerned a mutiny in the fleet led by a junior officer sick of it all. Frakkin' AmazingWords simply cannot express just how amazing this show has been. It has redifined the Sci-Fi genre from the sterility and bleakness and droll characters with little-to-no depth to them, into a portrayal of modern day humanity in a futuristic, apocalyptic situation. All respects to the original series, but this blows anything and everything out of the water, I seriously doubt there will ever be anything to top this fantastic show. The last time I was this awestruck was with Farscape, but this is on a whole new level. The combination of cast, crew, writers and producers was absolutely perfect, from the gritty sets of the Galactica to the masterpiece that has been the music production, (especially the motif of All Along The Watchtower which was absolutely mindblowing) I cannot find a single flaw with this revolutionary show. Many questions will be answered...Well, we are at season four and the last few years of battlestar galactica have been somewhat astounding. The issues that have been raised: faith, ethics, incredibly difficult decisions and stress make the journey of the last of twelve colonies to find earth a secular counterpar to the biblical Exodus. Season four starts by giving us a long awaited answer - the supposed identity of the fifth cylon but with it more questions? What is the deal with Kara Thrace? Why did Dee do it? Arghhh! I have to say, the second episode was a real disapointment with characters schlepping around feeling sorry for themselves and no real forwarding of plot. However, given that they have spent four years searching for earth and found something different to what they expected, I can understand that we might need this transitional filler to get to the action again when things start to fall apart. All in all, I thoroughly reccomend BSG but I advise caution for adult content. You also really need to watch from the start, it's not something you can pick up in season 4....Score: 4/5
