Seeing that Caprica is a prequel to Battlestar, it peaked my interest in Galactica so after watching the first few episodes of Caprica, i downloaded the mini series of BSG...yep, after that, i was hooked. 2 weeks later, i got all 4 seasons watched and you know what? i enjoyed EVERY minute of that show. i wish they could do more with it...but you know, it was one fraking good time and i want to thank those people for giving us one hell of a ride to watch. 5 big fraking stars..Score: 5/5

A great finale for the ultimate SCI-FI showI grew up watching the re-runs of the original BSG on SCI-FI channel as a child. I was excited when I heard they were creating a new version of it but leary due to the major deviations from the original campy series. I love the dark story lines that go into the ugliness of human nature in times of extreme stress, grief, and ultimate survival mode. The show highlighted everything and was able to parallel current events (Iraq invasion and occupation). The final season wrapped up so many story lines and made the audience ponder important questions like what really is spirituality. A Great Show. Gutted in its Final SeasonLike many shows with an overarching story arc, Battlestar Galactica tied itself up in plot knots over time. In this case, the writers decided to cut through the knots rather than unravel them. By the time it’s over, major characters are suddenly and inexplicably revealed to be cylons, angels, and ghosts, and what appeared to be great and heroic victories in earlier episodes turned out to be nothing more than the unfolding of a divine plan. The result was, for many, many of the show’s admirers something not merely unsatisfying but more akin to betrayal: Ron Moore promised “naturalistic” science fiction, but ended up delivering us a (literally) Deus Ex Machina conclusion preachier than Sunday morning television. Most incredibly of all, Moore built this season (and one episode of the last) around a song by Bob Dylan. I can hardly believe those words as I write them, but it actually happened. The best episodes of Season Four concerned a mutiny in the fleet led by a junior officer sick of it all. Absolute proof that SyFy was right: the series should have been cancelledSeason 4 is painful evidence that the SyFy Channel was right when it originally decided to cancel BSG after its second season. Picking up where last season's cliffhanger left off, Laura Roslin (Mary McDonnell), thwarted in her efforts to steal the election from a man she suspects is somehow in collusion with the Cylons, loses her presidency to Giaus Baltar (James Callis), who promised safe refuge from the Cylons by settling on the recently discovered planet New Caprica. However, after a year of enduring harsh conditions and suffering under Baltar's self-indulgent government, the fleet's worst fears are realized when the Cylons discover their hiding place. With the battlestars Galactica and Pegasus helpless in the face of the arrival of a full Cylon fleet, the colonists are left to fend for themselves as Adama (Edward James Olmos) and Apollo (Jamie Bamber) are forced to jump away with the remaining fleet in order to save themselves — but vow to return. The Cylons offer President Baltar one dubious chance for survival: surrender and co-exist peacefully under Cylon rule or be annihilated.
