LOVE THIS SERIES!!!I just started watching this series, it is so great!!! I've enjoyed every minute!! Are there some similarites to other vampire books & shows, yes, but you can find similarties in all of them!!!! It's unavoidable, a writer takes ideas from other books, and puts a twist to it to make it their own... This show has great characters, great story line, lots of twists & interesting things that keep you coming back for more!!!.Score: 5/5
Addictions are really unhealthlyYes the books are different: names and mostly personality wise as well, but it's alright I still love this series <3 Sigh... this is the main cause of my procrastination heheh. I was sceptical at first, but then I watched one episode and met a character, cough cough Damon cough. I was hooked. I do not like twilight at all! Sorry if I offended twilight fans. But real vampires people! And a lot cuter ones too. This is really an awesome show. The love triangle between Elena our heroine, Stefan the sweet brother, and Damon the bad boy, it's beautiful. What the Hell!I watched the vampire diaries not once, not twice but i watched six episodes and found it truly shocking, Elena is competley wroung and made the series rubbish with her poor attempt of the character, the book's are really good and i enjoyed them but Stefen what the Hell! he is such an EDWARD WANNABE is drives me insane the hair and how he talks i just hate the character on screen. Damon was the only good thing in the show becasue of his funny qoutes. Also in one episode they had a joke about TWILIGHT and that was a low blow considering thats a successful movie and this is a joke of a show. stick to the Vampire movies this is shocking..Score: 1/5

Fricken awesome seriesI love the vampire diaries! The plot is so good and the actors play the characters brilliantly. When I first glanced at it I thought it was going to be another cheap version of Twilight, but it's not. It's more realistic (as fas as sci-fi shows go), in how it is all created and played out. It really captures your interest and leaves you wanting more and more each time. I for one think it's brilliant and I love Damon :P he's so hot and sarcastic I love it :P I just love the bad boys- haha. The chemistry, plot and cliff hangers creates a thrilling atmosphere and if you love being stuck on the edge of your seat with a fantasy romane comedy like this then -cha ching- you've hit the jack pot! I can't wait for season II. Best TV show out there by a mile. Beats Twilight and Buffy by a mile. You won't be dissapointed with this one, it's worth every penny! :D.Score: 5/5
Stunning!The tv series are amazing and so are the books but theyre so different! the tv series is supposed to be based on the books but it doesnt follow any of the storylines and all the characters have the wrong seccond names and half of them are related (matt + vicki) but i don't care! it'll make the tv series last longer! <3 this series is all i talk about :) oh and btw, the first vampire diaries book came out in 1991 so it was written before twilight :) @ Alice bx I watched most of them online, but that sort of ruined my only source of excitement for a month... it's probably better to watch this series on tv and buy your fav episodes :).Score: 5/5
