Ridiculous pricing! Insanity!Unbelievable! I've read comments about price for other shows and movies, but I've never been so amazed and upset. Insane. I blame PBS or Ken Burns for sure... this pricing has nothing to do with iTunes (if it was 1.99/ep. I would). Ken Burns docs are worth it.I would like to remind all those who have complained about the high price of this series. Please remember that this is a PBS production. PBS is a non-profit entity that depends on charity and donations to keep going. That $6.99 you're paying for each episode goes to the operation of the network and productions of future programs. Honestly, does anyone think that The History Channel or TLC could produce something of the quality of a Ken Burns show? A RarityI recently watched all 10+ hours of Ken Burns: The Civil War and cannot recommend it enough: it is now my favorite film of all time, bar none. Under Burns' sure hand, the war that galvanized the United States as one nation is vivid and immediate, no mean feat. This is one of the most engrossing productions I've ever seen, remarkable as it is a documentary and, considering the times it focuses on, consists of expert narration over still photography, interspersed with film of the lush vistas where these grueling battles occurred. The Documentary by which all other Historical Documentaries will be judgedAstonishing. Ken Burns was able to capture and convey history as a living, breathing thing. Actors such as Morgan Freeman and Sam Waterston read the actual words of historical figures and help make these people come to life. It is a testament to Mr. Burns that this is such a captivating documentary with very little use of moving images - other than brief interviews with historians and a few film clips of people long after the war, almost everything is told with photographs and paintings from the period - and it is completely effective. This is how history should be taught. Highly Recommended..Score: 5/5
