AMAZING!!!I started reading the books about five years ago and was instantly hooked. After reading almost every book in the series, I found out there was a TV show. The show is nothing like the book, but has never stopped amazing me. Every episode is a surprise, and you can always expect the unexpected. I have been watching the TV show for years, and it is far better than any other crazy Vampire Fiction. 2nd best Vampire series of all times...The first being Buffy The Vampire Slayer. :) I'd like to mention, this is NOT a copy of Twilight. TVD was a book series back in the 90's way before Twilight ever came out. I don't think it ever was that popular of a series but with vampires being the "in thing", they decided to make a TV series out of it. Twilight is for pre-pubscent little children; they never stab anyone (and by anyone, I mean vampires. Stake to the heart, people. That's how you kill them), there is no blood or gore and honestly, vampires DO NOT SPARKLE in the sun. They BURN. They DIE. Sunlight KILLS them. Vampire Diaries is gory and amazing. Twilight has NOTHING on it. TVD has amazing acting and so much depth and the writing is spectacular. Each episode ends with some type of cliffhanger(s) that leaves you wanting so much more. Twilight is boring and the acting is horrible. So please, if you want to watch good TV and not waste your money, I highly recommend buying this season. And trust me, as the season progresses, it gets better and better..Score: 5/5
