The Real DealI grew up commercial fishing. I fished dungeness crab, herring, salmon, albacore and halibut. This show really captures what fishing is. The natural beauty, the drama, the rewards. These guys are the best of the best in the world of commercial fishing (Highliners). I was determined to go to Alaska from Bodega Bay, CA when I got out of high school, only to be talked out of it by my father ( a big time fisherman in his own right ). The money was great, but the danger was greater. If you want to see the worlds most dangerous profession, and brilliant production( the best TV has to offer) in a no holds barred assault of the senses, this show is for you! RIP Phil. True Reality T.V!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I hate reality T.V but The Deadliest Catch is AWESOME!!!! I am so glad my husband made me watch it, I was hooked from the get go! Capts. Phil, Sig and Johnathan are my fave's, And losing Capt. Phil this season was heartbreaking, he will be sorely missed, but watching Josh step up to bat and take charge, Phil would be so proud, and watching Phil's final day's with Josh and Jake was heartwrenching and touching! Phil can rest in peace knowing that Josh and Jake will carry on the Harris family tradtion and that Capts. Sig and Johnathan will be watching over them and helping out when need be!!!!.Score: 5/5

Captain Phil Harris, the Crab KingI love the Deadliest catch ever since I saw the first episode. When I heard that Captain Phil passed away my heart sank like a ship taking on water. I know that Captain Phil will be crab fishing in an endless goldmine. And his sons will be carrying on the tradition of crab fishing. Captain Phil the crab gods will watch over your sons in the years to come. "The fog's just lifting. You throw off your bow line, throw off your stern. You head out past Dutch Harbor were the catching begins, blow your horn to the Bering Sea to let her know your coming. Then the birds show up, herring gulls, ravens and bald eagles. The sun hits you, head north, open up to 12. Your steaming now, the guys are busy, your in charge. You are a great Crab Fisherman Captain Phil Harris, may you rest in peace..Score: 5/5

Why isn't "Dead or Alive" used as the theme in (at least) the Redemption Day episode? The intro this year has been especially powerful & beautiful. The instrumental is fine, but there's just something about "Dead or Alive" with those images. Bet it has to do with copyright & permissions. oh well. For those who found Cain and Abel wanting ReadI'm not suprised they didn't show his death. As with anyone you want to remember their life not their death. What i would have like to see is the reaction of the fleet to the news of his death. For those of us who have watched the show for years and couln't make it to any memorial service this show was what i had hoped to be a substitute and i think many others were hoping for the same. Online you can find bits and pieces of clips on the website that aren't in the Cain and Abel episode but the majority left me wanting. Maybe we should wait till next week and see if they listend and actually cover the after as this last one covered the before. It even says so in the story summary..Score: 4/5
Great series but what about season 5?This is the most dramatic reality series on TV. I bought the first 4 seasons of this series but season 4 was split into vol. 4&5 so season 5 is unavailable. I hope this changes soon. Some people are complaining about the coverage of Capt. Phil's death. He wanted it to be shown and said "Every good story needs an ending." Much respect !!!.Score: 5/5
