CommunityThis show is witty, funny, has a good cast, and never fails to amuse me. I saw the first episode just to check it out and the first episode wasn't the best. I decided to stick around for more episodes and I'm glad I did. If I could give this show six stars, I would..Score: 5/5

"Theatrical Dynamite!"I have stuck with "Community" since the pilot episode, and it has become one of my favorite shows of all time. The cast is perfect, and every character brings their own fun, special touch to the show (observe how Starburns usually tosses up his hands and looks around in disbelief when he's addressed by others, and marvel at Dean Pelton's disturbing dalmation collection and grabby hands). I love the pop-culture references, the in-jokes, the puns, the music, and the writers' understanding of how the cast fits together and why audiences find them funny. And the actors' facial expressions and body language are so comedically rewarding—they add another layer of humor to the already-engrossing script. I don't know how the writers do it, but they manage to convey both mature, complex humor and childish silliness very well, and I know people of all ages who love "Community" after watching only one or two episodes. "Community" is unique in several ways, but one that really stands out is that despite having some very attractive female cast members, it never lowers itself to lazily relying on their sex appeal, and in fact, often uses the male cast to provide physical humor that requires an absence of clothing. It's as though the writers understand that "Community" is above the "cheap ploys" that so many other shows rely on, while also ironically exploiting them in the most ludicrous manner (naked pool). I hope "Community" airs for several seasons and that it becomes widely recognized for its warmth, intelligence, and appreciation for deadpan geeks, single moms, lonely old men, guarded single women, peppy perfectionists, insecure former jocks, and jerks with hearts of gold. This show truly can make people laugh and smile together about how great it is to be surrounded by friends, despite our imperfections..Score: 5/5

Gets off to a spotty startThis is a five-star show. It is head and shoulders above the competition. Dan Harmon et al. have created a format that allows them a great degree of freedom to play with sitcom structure while not neglecting the more immediate comedic value of the show. That said, be warned that Season 2 is not free of flaws--the first five episodes are a little tentative, and one or two episodes beyond that are a little boring (for example, "Custody Law and Eastern European Diplomacy"). Those flaws, however, are heavily outweighed by the shows strengths..Score: 5/5
