EpicGreat series. Doesn't get as much credit as band of brothers, but the pacific theatre wasn't and sexy as the European. It's a authentic take on the lesser known, less studied side of WWII. Another great Spielberg/Hanks production..Score: 5/5
SpectacularNot only does this series have stunning cinematography, but the acting and story are riveting and engaging. I was at the edge of my seat nearly every episode, if not choking back the tears with pride in our greatest generation. This series does our WWII warriors of the pacific a great justice in telling of the tragedies and the humanity of the island hopping campaign. Bravo..Score: 5/5

Comparing The Pacific to Band of BrothersWhen comparing The Pacific to Band of Brothers, I found that it took me longer to get to know and become vested in the individual characters. Many characters come and go or play smaller roles in a few episodes, while a few characters are present in the majority of the series. In retrospect, it makes sense - Band of Brothers takes place over a much shorter period of time, but both series have the same number of episodes. However, I found that eventually I was just as vested in the characters as I was with Band of Brothers and as the character development progressed, I enjoyed the series more and more. Because of this I enjoyed the 2nd half of the series more than the 1st half, though I think I would enjoy the 1st half more-so if I were to watch it again. Comparing both series in terms of "quality" I would say that the acting was equally as good. In terms of cinematography, both series were excellent. Special effects was well done in both series, but I have to say that I was even more impressed with The Pacific - while I knew that most of the ships had to be CG, I wasn't able to visibly detect that they weren't real (except for one minor close-up scene). I would say that the writing was slightly better in Band of Brothers, if only because they were able to differentiate the important characters more quickly, though The Pacific is still well done. Lastly, one thing that I think stands out about The Pacific is the soundtrack: it is exceptionally well done and really adds to the tone of the series even more than that of Band of Brothers (which was also well-done). Overall, I would say that if you enjoyed Band of Brothers, you should definitely see this series. Even if it takes you a bit longer to "get into" the series, its well worth it in the end..Score: 5/5
High price will inhibit online salesSilly price point will certainly mean less revenue for iTunes and the show's creators: at $6 per HD episode I'd imagine that most are downloading this show from the internet. Cut the price in half and make 10x the sales..Score: 5/5
The PacificHands down the greatest miniseries ever created behind Band of Brothers. Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks left no stone unturned in their follow-up to the hugely successful Band of Brothers. It's as engrossing as its predecessor, but why wouldn't it be? It's nothing shy of flawless. It's keeps you glued to the TV, computer or phone screen just as Band of Brothers does. "The Pacific" is a MUST own, especially for WWII buffs, but who everyone else as well. "Band of Brothers"and "The Pacific" are hands down the greatest miniseries tandem ever created..Score: 5/5
Must WatchThe Pacific personifies the war with Japan better than any other representation. The brutality, the loss, and the people. It shows the effect of war on people, it's a a show that's not meant to be watched for watching it sake. It's meant to be experienced, to be a reminder, a lesson of sorts..Score: 5/5

A Movie? This is an absolutely great show. I'm glad HBO made this into a series. To the reviewer who wanted the series to be a movie instead because it was so good....a movie is usually 1.5-2 hrs, while with this series is closer to 8 hrs.... Why would you rather a movie again?.Score: 5/5
YawnThis was a great show ... in 2010, Well it still ok, but where are the new shows? Where is season 3 to Yellowstone? They are about to release seaon 4. How about season 4 of the Expanse, season 5 is about to release. How about Peaky Blinders, Endeaveor, and on and on. iTunes brings in one or two seasons of a show and then that it. We won't be spending any more money here buying these tired old rehashed shows. It seems as if iTunes has become redundent and can't/won't bring in the shows we want..Score: 1/5
