Awesome Superhero TV ShowI’ve watched my fair share of superhero movies and television shows. I never read comics as a kid (or even now) so I only knew of Green Arrow through Smallville and I’m sure I saw him in an episode of Justice League or Superfriends cartoon shows way back in the day. Having said that, this show is amazing. You don’t have to know a thing about Green Arrow to enjoy it. The origin story is filled with plot twists and exciting action and the flashback scenes to the island (Lost, anyone?) remained entertaining throughout the entire season. The actors are all fantastic in their roles and definitely light up the screen. You may recognize a few of them from other shows like Dr. Who, Teen Wolf, and the short-lived Kings. The stories all fit together nicely and the show is fun to watch and has that “just one more episode” hook that all good programs have. I was extremely surprised at how much I liked this show. It’s a bit more dark than something like Smallville, but that’s a good thing. Highly recommended..Score: 5/5

Unwatchable DissapointmentI wanted to like this show. Really wanted to. I thought I might get into it after the fist couple of episodes and then it became unbearable. The writing is awful. The acting is tinny at best. The characters make the same mistakes over and over and fail to communicate in any realistic way. Generating plot tension by simply having one of the characters throw a tantrum or having hollow meaningless characters keep popping in to see if everything is ok is about as cheap as it gets. Another missed opportunityWhat a waste of a concept. Terrible (and I mean god awful) actors! Casting based on looks is pathetic. Everything wrong with gritty reinterpretations in five episodesThis is the story of a man who got shipwrecked on an island for 5 years and therefore decided to hunt down and terrorise a list of people his father vaguely suggested might not be the nicest people. And he was on the island because his mother sabotaged their yacht to kill his father, and she also wants him dead for no apparent reason. Within days of returning home, Oliver Queen becomes a fully-equipped vigilante with all sorts of weapons that he had no possible way of obtaining alone, which he uses to kill countless henchmen in cold blood, threaten and extort people he doesn't understand and just generally cause pain and devastation in the world's most poorly lit docklands. He claims he's doing good, especially when he targets another vigilante who kills his own targets. But Oliver is also a killer, so there is no moral high ground and this is basically just a turf war. And he's incapable of keeping his escapades a secret; He's caught on CCTV placing his gear and recovering it. But the police let him off because the investigator had a personal grudge and no one else was available apparently, meaning that the only reason there are more than five episodes is that the police in this city are utterly incompetent. Arrow is visually dour, morally repugnent, needlessly convoluted and full of plot holes..Score: 1/5
