From PBS and Ken Burns - Theodore Roosevelt leads a Progressive crusade that splits his own party, undertakes a deadly expedition into the South American jungle, campaigns for American entry into World War I — and pays a terrible personal price. Franklin masters wartime Washington as Assistant Secretary of the Navy, while Eleanor finds personal salvation in war work. Her discovery of Franklin's romance with another woman transforms their marriage into a largely political partnership. TR's death at 60 is almost universally mourned, but provides Franklin with a golden opportunity..

Thank you Ken Burns!A+ history lessons, profound..Score: 5/5

Riveting HistoryThis documentary series absolutely captured me. Born in the years after WWII, we never learned in school about the Roosevelt eras.....they were all too close to be regarded as history. And yet I can see in these years of turmoil so many of the formative forces that led to America in the 1950s and 60s. Don't expect neutrality; Ken Burns has not created a dispassionate and dry history......his storytelling makes these three heroic (yes, that's the right word) historical figures come to life. He brings the viewer to understand how each of the heroes overcame adversity. It's inspirational and instructive at the same time. I learned so much, and enjoyed it so much at the same time..Score: 5/5

Another Ken Burns winner! What a wonderful series featuring each of the Roosevelt's and their inherent qualities that added to the future of our country, and how they changed destiny. It truly gives us a poignant view of each of these leaders qualities, shortcomings, and their mental and physical challenges that they were to overcome, and still became some of the most influential leaders of all time. Thanks again, Ken, for putting together another true masterpiece of our country’s most historical events. A very well organized production giving as detailed as possible. A series to watch repeated times now and in years to come. ——MFF.Score: 5/5

Manipulative StorytellingTime and time again, Ken Burns plays up the drama of a moment to manipulate his audience into thinking what he deems the most captivating aspect to establish his subjects character. The audience is pulled into the grief Teddy was feeling in the loss of his wife and mother on the same day. So grief stricken, he isolates himself for 4 years in the Bad Lands, serving as a rancher to recover from the grief and build the man that he became. We discover in a subsequent segment that within months of Alice's death, he was secretly dating Edith and married within the year, settling in the east coast's estate of Sagamore. I felt totally manipulated by the omission of this critical bit of information within his dramatic 4 year solitude segment. I can watch no more and never will again Ken..Score: 1/5
