Can't Wait for the Next SeasonTo be honest this season of Doctor Who was pretty awesome! I'm kind of sad that the season is almost over. I'll be waiting anxiously for the next season to come out. I think Peter Capaldi is a great actor and jenna coleman had a really great personality when she was acting. I would definately recommend watching this t.v. show if your into scifi shows. :).Score: 5/5
Regret Buying full seasonI was first surprised at the extravagent price of the first episode, but purchased the full season because I was looking forward to Peter Capaldi's doctor. Pricing is usually set to cover a slight discount over single episode purchasing and this was set for 14 episodes. Season ended after 12 and the Christmas episode was not included (still debating whether to purchase it). There was very little opportunity to get to know the new Doctor, and way too much time focused on Clara and her "Mr. Pink". I had liked Clara, but this became tiresome and boring. This season could have been so much better. Hopefully the writers will remember who the show is supposed to be about next season. Normally a 5 star show, this season I give it three..Score: 3/5
Love the Doctor, despise the pricingI love these episodes but a 10 dollar difference between SD and HD is ridiculous in my opinion. Whoever determines the pricing should be sent off to Skaro! I’m going to have to wait for a discount on this one. Love the episodes. Peter Capaldi is awesome. I loved Matt Smith and David Tennant, but got tired of the ‘romance’ aspect to the story lines. This Doctor is all business. “No flirting on the TARDIS” with this Doctor and I love it! A bit of flash mixed with a clean mouthed Malcolm Tucker sold me. Can’t wait for the next season with him. Flash that red, Capaldi! Change that sonic though to make it your own. :).Score: 5/5

Review of the entire seasonI decided to write the review after watching the entire season. My favorite episodes of the season include ‘Listen’, ‘Time Heist’, ‘The Caretaker’, and ‘Mummy on the Orient Express’. Those episodes made the season worthwhile. Peter Capaldi as the Doctor, the Special Effects, and the music was fantastic. I even somewhat enjoyed Missy as the Master, though I was hoping more that she would be the Rani. The writing, in my opinion, let me down, especially after the previous seasons with Matt Smith. In fact, every time there was a reference to the 11th Doctor, I became very nostalgic. Though Peter Capaldi is great, I can’t seem to enjoy this doctor as rapidly as I did the previous doctors. For example, Matt Smith and David Tennant captured me in their first episodes, and Chris Eccleston had me by the second episode. Paul McGann, in his Webisode, made me wanting more (I really wish they would do the honor of tying in the 8th doctor a bit more…Paul was great). I was even drawn into the War Doctor, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 6th doctors immediately. My problem has more to do about choices in writing. For example, though Danny Pink is a relatively enjoyable character to watch, his apparent disrespect for officers (though perhaps justified) has questionable ethics to authority. Also, if we are going to explore Bible ideas (paradise, afterlife, and things of that nature), let’s have some accurate Bible knowledge. I also thought that the timeline with Danny Pink just got a paradox (see ‘Listen’), unless Clara is pregnant…which then leads to other moral issues, or there will be a future explanation in which maybe Danny Pink comes back (like Rory). I did not enjoy Clara and Danny’s relationship because of their recent comparison with Rory and Amy. Rory and Amy in my opinion was fun for several reasons. They did love each other; they had their problems, but in the end, they chose to be with each other and proved it with many sacrifices. Rory seemed to get better with every episode, and when he was touched by an angel, I felt emotional at the loss. Clara, though a great companion, I felt was not shown the proper respect in the fact that she had saved all regenerations of the doctor by traveling through his timestream. Also, though I think ‘Flatline’ was a fun exploration as Clara playing the role of the doctor, she is not the doctor. She is a companion, and the doctor needs a companion as elegantly explained by Amy in ‘A Town Called Mercy’. I think the final episode was a let down. No great ‘out-thinking’. I felt the doctor’s role was almost questionable. Danny’s face did not need to be so drastically altered as a Cyberman (I could not take him seriously). No relevant role for the kid whom Danny killed (wouldn’t that had been great if they had partnered up some how). Stewart’s assistant’s death, in my opinion, was needless. I liked her character since the Day of the Doctor, and to see her die seemed unfortunate. Maybe they can find a way to bring her back. Finally, where is River Song? At then end, I feel the doctor’s alien attributes best serves him off the planet earth…so I’d like to see episodes that put the doctor in more alien settings with only sporadic visit’s to earth (like in the Caretaker). At least Lethbridge Steward got his salute (finally showing some respect to officers, and well-deserved)..Score: 3/5

Dr Who Magic writer has lost his museI have been a Dr Who Fan since the 70’s. I grew-up watching Tom Baker. I did not need great special effects or high budget sets. The writing made this show great along with the Doctors. I feel like the head writer and producer; Steven Moffat, has lost his interest in the show. It’s almost like he’s been spending so much time on his new show Sherlock Homes that he does not have time for Dr. Who any more. Maybe he thinks the show does not need him. The magic that was once there is gone. The writing feels disjointed. The stories don’t work or just feel rushed. There was only one good episode this season, which was a two part episode. Unfortunately the second part did not even connect to the first part. It felt like two different people wrote the episode without talking to one another. I hope Dr Who gets it muse back.
