Vastly OverratedThis movie and its success is a classic example of the public and the politically correct press over-applauding the efforts of people who tackle a significant social issue. Don’t get me wrong - the issue that the story is about was a tragedy and a major public crisis deserving of all the attention it got in the real world. The movie, however, not only adds nothing, it doesn’t tell the story in any way, shape, or form that is interesting. It is a dull and tired script devoid of any drama. The acting is professional, but foiled by the simple, basic, linear, bland story that never actually requires the actors to do very much. The accolades seem to be directed to the subject matter, but don’t be fooled. If you’re interested in the subject you’d be better off researching the actual news stories. Great movie!!I know many of the real people and they were depicted perfectly. The attention to detail is spot on!! There’s so much attention to detail that when Phil Saviano is in the bar talking to Sasha Pfeiffer....you will notice in the background is a television set with a Penn State football game playing. As Phil walks out...on the television is Joe Paterno. That is no coincidence.
