With a new iPhone, an apartment near The Grove, and a comfortable bank account left to her by her beloved late husband, Marnie Minervini (Academy Award® Winner Susan Sarandon, Best Actress, Dead Man Walking, 1995) has happily relocated from New Jersey to Los Angeles to be near her daughter Lori, a successful (but still single) screenwriter, and smother her with motherly love. But when the dozens of texts, unexpected visits, and conversations dominated by unsolicited advice force Lori to draw strict personal boundaries, Marnie finds ways to channel her eternal optimism and forceful generosity to change the lives of others. Not as cookie cutter as it seemsPerhaps that is because this movie is fortunate enough to be starring the great Susan Surandom. A feel good movie got me rooting for Marnie! A beautiful character study of a woman who seems on the surface to be shallow - happy with material goods. Looking for the things to fill her after her loss. Marnie is no intellectual however her emotional range is huge. Most of the movie is narrated through the voice messages she leaves her daughter who never picks up. I especially loved the relationship between mother and daughter so much like mine with my mom. Shes so gosh darn nice and noisy. So annoying to me but my friends are so jealous of how great my mom is. Go figure. It was great to see it from the outside and laugh my a** off. The humor isn’t forced, subtly handed to us by one of the greats. Susan, you brought it home again..Score: 5/5

Meaningful MovieI thought this movie was very well done and very poignant. It deals with grief and the different ways people cope. I guess I can relate because I have had losses in my life and I found it interesting to see the correlation I also experienced between all the emotions the actors faced. Susan Sarandon was fabulous as always. She truly is one of the best and conveyed the part with such depth..Score: 4/5
