Jason Bourne Movie Reviews

  • Wish I could un-watch it

Got this for free via Disney's Movies Anywhere - wish I could delete it. Julia Stiles digs up some who-cares stuff, there's an overly-dramatic chase, she gets killed in an unnecessarily violent way by an assassin who is chasing her and borne in a scene they draw out for some reason - I assume to piss off the audience, and then Borne gets mad and goes and finds out some who-cares stuff about his past. Few movies leave you less happy/inspired than you were before you started watching; this is one of them.
  • I think it was a pretty good one

It's now my favorite Jason Bourne movie
  • A tired chapter

With Bourne Legacy, a ton of crap was introduced into the story line to make this series as convoluted as possible. Dialogue in this flick and plotline was entirely predictable and stale. Nothing new was added to the Bourne character. From the get-go, I knew this series would fizzle in short order, as almost nothing about even the first flick had anything to do with the book by Robert Ludlum. I liked the first two movies in the series, but decided the bread was getting stale in the third installment. Bourne Legacy was a good flick, but should have been set outside the Bourne timeline, as scenes from the various Bourne movies did nothing to progress the Legacy movie. Now that Matt Damon is back into the role, it looks as if the writers went on vacation and never returned. This series is at its end, hopefully. Somewhere down the road, I'd like to see a remake that both brings the Ludlum book into the modern era and also stays close to the plot line from his novel. I've read about 4 books written by Eric Lustbader for the Ludlum estate to continue the saga, but have even stopped reading them. Not every book series should be made beyond the basic trilogy. Sometimes a good story stands on its own feet and should be left alone. This flick demonstrates why that is so.
  • Trully Great!

  • Great

Anyone not liking this is wrong. It's a great action adventure and spy movie. Good series too.
  • Bourne Again

GREAT action==did not disappoint... for those complaining about car chases and shakey cams-- i mean really, IT'S A BOURNE MOVIE!! but can we talk about the SWAT-mobile chase through the LV strip.... bit over the top. Otherwise delivered as expected.
  • You Know His Name.

Jason Bourne is no Bourne Legacy. Jason Bourne lived up the hype with its energetic action but the subplot is somewhat unrealistic and unnecessary. Matt Damon's first performance as the titular character in almost 10 years was no disappointed but more broken down. Jason Bourne is no where near as good as The Bourne Trilogy but it is better than The Bourne Legacy.
  • Disappointed

We like most of the Bourne movies. This one was simply just boring. 2 hours long but we decided to stop watching with 25 minutes left because it was so boring... We could not even give it the final 25 minutes.
  • Oh Babe

Outstanding......awesome work by all...and they tied it in with "Extreme......
  • One of the worst movies of 2016

I don't write many reviews but I want to warn people to stay away from this one. It's not just bad, it's nauseating. I walked out of it because I was dizzy and on the verge of vomitting from all the unnecessary camera zooming and shaking. I see from many reviews that I am not alone in this opinion. Forget about the weak storyline and terrible script, this movie would have been unwatchable if it had Oscar-worthy performances from its cast. This thing was a waste of $$ in the theater and is still absolute garbage as download. Stay away.
  • Very average movie, shaky cam = instant headache

I am a huge fan of the first three films, but this movie was not as good as those, it was very average. No heart, no feeling, no depth. And the shaky handheld camera gave me a headache within ten minutes, made my eyes hurt, and almost made me nauseous, ruined my evening.
  • First rate thrill ride

    Amazing action and great performances.
  • Good

Other than the ridiculously edited end fight scene it is a good movie!
  • Wait for Free TV

Remember everything you liked about the previous 3 movies? Well, try and forget it. This ain't it. Long. Boring. Shaky. Non-stop car chases. Video Editing gone rogue. Director gone mad. The pretty girl? Hopefully she was directed to act like a robot, if she wasn't, she has no future.
  • Just Meh...

    Ragin' Rog
It's very mediocre attempt at a thriller, with dull Matt Damon. The Mission Impossible series is better acted and entices you to continue watching.
  • Wide screen can't see the movie

    I hate wide-screen
So I buy it on iTunes to watch it on my phone, why have it wide screen? So frustrating 😡
  • Horrible

I stopped paying attention after 15 minutes. I didnt care what was going on. Horrible story bad everything. Why is this so bad compared to the others? I felt like it was a video game. The visuals were so bad. Ill rewatch the first three again. But this one ill never see the end. Its too painful.
  • Shaky Camera, Shaky Script, Shaky Acting

    Joe Buckstrap
    Shaky franchise.
  • Stop making Bourne movies!

So bad and boring, the first three stretch this character out as far as it should go, but this one has to insert a flawed father into the past to justify another 2 hours of mediocre action. The previous three films had action sequences that became the envy of spy movies. Hopefully this won't be diluted further.
  • Zero plot. Zero creativity.

This is what would happen if my grandpa tried to write a tech movie script. This is what would happen if all I cared about was pandering to Dodge and Las Vegas casinos. Don't waste your time or money.
