For years, old Mr. Meacham has delighted local children with tales of the fierce dragon that resides deep in the Pacific Northwest woods. To his daughter Grace, a forest ranger, the stories are little more than tall tales…until she meets Pete, a mysterious 10-year-old with no family or home, who claims to live in the woods with a giant green dragon named Elliot. With the help of 11-year-old Natalie, whose father owns the local lumber mill, Grace sets out to learn where Pete came from, where he belongs, and the truth about this dragon.
Pete, a young orphan, runs away to a Maine fishing town with his best friend a lovable, sometimes invisible dragon named Elliott! When they are taken in by a kind lighthouse keeper, Nora, and her father, Elliott's prank playing lands them in big trouble. Then, when crooked salesmen try to capture Elliott for their own gain, Pete must attempt a daring rescue.

Salem, OregonEye just now saw Pete's Dragon twice. Eye watched this movie in Theaters on August 27, 2016, Then last night at home on May 17, 2021. And the other Pete's Dragon from 1977 was such a musical. And this one is not a musical because It must be live action. Great disney film..Score: 5/5

A review from my children's viewMy 5 and 4 year old LOVED This - they cried (real tears) laughed, punched the air, got angry. I was blown away at the complexity of their emotions. Bryce Dallas Howard could have been directed better - her way of speaking with her voice, tone, is very unnerving and wracked my nerves. I really love her normally so I wish she had been directed to speak more "normally." But other than that this is a solid family film - predictable, very, but that's okay..Score: 4/5

Was a bit skepticalI love the original Pete's Dragon but the remake was AMAZING. From the change of storyline to the thickening of the plot and all of the raw emotion it hits you. The actors were amazing. The music was perfect. Everything about the movie was genuinely perfect..Score: 5/5

Enjoyable For Little KidsThe movie is really slow and dumbed down. Boring for teens and adults, just don't expect too much for a film which explained the poor box office numbers. Special effects are good when needed, acting is decent and the film has their expected happy endings for the kids. Rating is far too high and besides the limited target market for kids, there really is nothing special to the movie. Surprised they did include their famous song "Candle on the Water?" I would have rated lower, but for the little kiddies they will love this film..Score: 3/5
