“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.
From J.K. Rowling's wizarding world.. In 1926, Newt Scamander arrives at the Magical Congress of the United States of America with a magically expanded briefcase, which houses a number of dangerous creatures and their habitats. When the creatures escape from the briefcase, it sends the American wizarding authorities after Newt, and threatens to strain even further the state of magical and non-magical relations.. It’s good but very long
I simply ADORE this movie. Watch it. Worth it so much.
This was a beautiful and well made film. One of my favorite actors. Eddie Redmayne. Did an amazing job at being Newt Scamander. Over all, this movie is extremely well made and I can’t wait what J.K. Rowling is going to bring us in “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.”
It was FANTASTIC, thnx so much JK Rowling for everything!
Just started watching this before Thanksgiving.
Good and bad
Different spin in a magical world that we once knew. Excited for the series!
I’m so great that I watched this awesome film by non other JK that movie is an die hardcore from start to end well directed and amazing cast!!!
Loved the Harry Potter franchise, unfortunately this is a bad money grab and misses out on the recipes that made the originals work.
I loved fantastic beasts it was amazing and I can’t wait till the new movie!
Good film. Has it tons of people creatures and funny
Saw this movie in theatres and I got pretty bored near the beginning of the movie. All I know about this movie is that it takes place long before Harry Potter when Hogwarts School was just kinda starting out. I don't think they should’ve went this far back I think they should’ve at least had more of Hogwarts in this movie & also the four Hogwarts houses. I did NOT like how they ruined this movie with American actors and actresses cause the Harry Potter movies have all British people with British English accents. I did not like how the movie was centered around the creatures I thought their was too much of that. It would’ve been better if they mentioned more about Hogwarts School. I didn’t like how they showed a lot of the muggle world in this movie. This was NOTHING to the Harry Potter world that we all know and came to love. I honestly think of this as a whole new movie that also just happens to be magical like Harry Potter. But this movie will never compare to Harry Potter. Though there is suppose to be 2 more Fantastic Beast movies so hopefully those 2 movies show more and more of Hogwarts and the four houses and perhaps even maybe the founders of each house at Hogwarts, now THAT would be pretty awesome & total upgrade & still show a bit of the different beasts of course and last but not least have Dumbledore in the next two movies & PLEASE get rid of the American actors, they just ruin it all.
I don’t like it I hated it
Taking it for what it was, a fantasy, I found the movie to be great fun. There was some drama, some romance and some adventure.
Turned it off. Couldn't get through the opening credits.
Not a comment about ths movie. I thought that it was ok. Itunes selection in general sucks. I just scrolled through and could not find a single movie that I wanted to watch. Itunes sucks.
Cool même si j'ai juste écouter le début
We thoroughly enjoyed this movie. You won't be disappointed.
best movie I've seen in years! Stands on its own. Well structured refreshing new characters and actors. Storyline a bit of a reach but I guess thats why they call it a story
The costumes were perfect. The storyline fell a couple of times but it made up for it with the action adventure. I enjoyed the ending of the unexpected meeting in the shop.
BEST THING EVER!!!😄😄😄😃😀
Really good movie love everything about it
Awful. I tried to watch it again, in case I had it wrong the first time, but I was right: This film is a dreadful waste of resources and possibilities. Could've fed and housed a lot of homeless people but no, the producers just made this.
I wasn't too excited to see Fantastic Beasts and I wasn't too excited while watching it. If the movie wasn't related to Harry Potter I might consider it better because I felt like it completely lost the magic. I couldn't tell you a thing about any of the characters and the story didn't have much depth to it which really hurt the performances. On the positive side, I watch movies with a projector and surround sound which this film lends itself to. The last battle is also pretty cool. So overall... meh.
delightful & dark... a great film, i watched it at a friends & then bought it. a must watch/buy for any Potter fan
Characters deliver in dark, fun Harry Potter prequel.
Even though it's not as good as HP, it's still a fun and enjoyable movie. The acting is amazing. It has a great story. I'm so excited for the sequel!
I thought I would really enjoy this film, but sadly, no. The story was dull, and tonally, the film veered wildly between a children's fantasy of cringeworthy slapstick moments, and some very dark and bleak scenarios indeed. It just didn't gel at all. It all felt too try hard...there was no flow, no progression, and ultimately, no resolution. It lacked the charm and magical wonder of the original Harry Potter films. I found most of the characters tedious and very annoying. A wasted opportunity, a waste of talent and a total waste of time.
This was dull and lacked dramatic tension. Turned off after 30 minutes.
The imagination and creativity of JK Rowling literally defies belief, it is such a fun and entertaining film to watch.
One word magical!! The whole movie from start to finish I couldn't take my eyes of screen. It's grips you straight away and Eddie Redmayne is brilliant in it.
It not only lives up to the Potter universe but has enough kick to inspire people into the magical universe it joins into. Enjoying from start to finish, it's theme of adventure and oppression echoes seamlessly throughout the film. Potter fanatic or not, this film is not to be missed to anyone who enjoys a good story.
Really great film. I didn't know what to expect and hadn't been too excited in the build up but this was refreshing and a strong film. I am so glad it was written by J.K.Rowling and it is so well placed in the Wizarding World, it made me realise how much I missed it without even realising. This made me totally appreciate how it will be a five film story arch and I just look forward to it! 🦄🦁🐉🌧
I saw this film today and it was spectacular! I am a big fan of the Harry Potter films and didn't really know what to expect when I went to see Fantastic Beasts, I knew it was a prequel of sorts, well, everything about this film was truly magical. The story was exceptional, didn't leave us looking at our watch at all, the acting didn't disappoint either, the creatures were original and there were a lot of laughs throughout. This will be one for the shelf that you can go back to again and again without getting bored. Truly great Film and I highly recommend watching.
Absolutely loved this, a worthy addition to the legacy and as good as the Potter series at its best
I saw this film last night in the cinema and was by far one of the best films of the year, very magical and funny. Will be seeing this film again very soon.
Before I watched it I thought that the HP series was best left as is and that any further spinoffs would ruin the magic. However i loved this one! Just enough of the HP world to be nostalgic but I didn't find myself missing Harry and Co. A great film in its own right! Cant wait to watch again! :)
