Based on the beloved bestselling novel by W. Awesome but(you will cry)So good but the part when the dog is a police dog and is shot and killed is sooooo sad. I'm 11 years old and cried my heart out.But not a movie for 8 years and younger.My brother had nightmares and cried in bed for weeks until we changed into only watching cartoon movies unless they are disney or critically acclaimed movies suitable for young children.i love this movie to bits though.love you bailey the dog.Score: 5/5

Great movie!I thought it was a really cute and well put together movie! It demonstrated all the roles a dog can be in any one persons life. Whether for police work, as a childhood pet, companion, etc...The movie touched upon all these roles, which is why I thought it was so great. To clarify, I am also a dog lover and even have one of my own. I understand that some people gave this movie a bad review just because the dog was mistreated during the police investigation scene, but in reality, dogs are used for real police work and in some cases are hurt in the process. Misfortunate, but true. I like how this movie had that realistic approach and a happy ending to it all. The dog would keep coming back as a different breed and for a different purpose. Not all lives were spectacular, but that's just the real world and that's what made this film a hit in my opinion. I recommend it..Score: 5/5

Damage“An independent, third-party investigation conducted by a respected animal cruelty expert into the treatment of animals in the filming of A Dog’s Purpose concluded that an edited video given to the gossip site TMZ mischaracterized the events on the set,” the American Humane Society said in a statement. “The decisions by the individual or individuals who captured and deliberately edited the footage, and then waited longer than 15 months to release the manipulated video only days before the movie’s premiere, raise serious questions about their motives and ethics.” It is too easy to draw negative conclusions... to be so very sure that somethng is wrong... to be sure that the evidence before you shows the entire picture or even anything real at all. Avoiding this movie does not help the general plight of animals, but it might help you to avoid that bad feeling you are carrying around. You want to do something? I'm not talking about talking or criticizing... I'm talking about actually getting out there and doing something. Now that will make your heart feel better..Score: 4/5
