In the tradition of MY BLOODY VALENTINE, THE STEPFATHER, and LAKEVIEW TERRACE, MOTHER'S DAY follows three brothers who break into their childhood home in order to evade the police. Once there, they take the new owners and their guests hostage, terrorizing and brutalizing them. When their sadistic mother (Rebecca DeMornay of THE HAND THAT ROCKS THE CRADLE) arrives to help them escape and clean up their mess, she realizes she still has a lot to teach her children, and their hostages, about torture.
Nina, a former NATO special operations agent living in hiding, has to use all her deadly skills to rescue her son who has been kidnapped by ruthless gangsters. Finding Max is a double opportunity for her. A chance to feel the adrenaline rush again, and an opportunity to get back into the life of the son she had to abandon years ago.

Horrible!The beginning was horribly edited. There's literally three different story lines mashed up into the first 5 minutes. Then the storyline wants you to believe that 4 large men are too girly to over take a couple of young thugs with pistols. The storyline is absurd, and confusing. Don't waste your money!.Score: 1/5

It's okA shockingly violent horror movie but not really a great one. It drove me insane to watch the characters squander multiple opportunities to work together and fight back against these nut jobs. I know the nuts have guns but if you're going to be killed regardless you would expect these people to fight for their lives and they act like passive victims just waiting to be tortured. It kills the suspense and makes it hard to actually care about anything going on. it's painful to watch the script force the characters to turn on each other, make baffling decisions and squabble about nonsense in order to extend the movie's runtime. The majority of the dialogue is all at once sloppy, sometimes racist, cruel and stupid. While the violence and torture are both pretty sadistic, it's hard to care what is happening to anyone when the eruption of brutality begins. Jaime King and Rebecca D'Mornay are both bright spots in the movie though and the final 15 minutes are worth the price of admission but the movie takes far too long to get there (2 hours is too long for this kind of horror movie) and the actual end itself is kind of a letdown. Worth one watch but overall a disappointment..Score: 3/5
