Starts strong, falls flatEverything up to the last 10 min was fine. Great acting, intriguing story, suspenseful tension, but all winded up being pretentious neo-spiritualism crap or whatever you wanna call it. WierdThis movie is definitely not a comedy. You have a chuckle here and there but as the story progress it becomes clear that it’s a different kind of drama. I did not dislike it. Salmas acting is superb. The detail on the set and clothing is great. But it’s ending is not so much of a twist but a realization that the director could have been better..Score: 3/5
This is the best film i have seen in very long timeIt is a cool real conversation about the times we live. Ttwo great actors holding their own ,from very different backgrounds. one in an existential crisis from love and desire to heal. The other's only pleasure from greed and stalking his prey. the conversation are of this moment we are living. , I am so moved by the performances of both actors .she playing it all from the heart of healing and love, him as a very fragile billionaire who can call out others Egos not his own ,its an immigrant story i relate having been asked those very questions many times after 37 years in the america , Its subtle ,your provoked to think ,my favorite loved it!.Score: 5/5
Wonderful FilmI have no idea what people are talking about - this is one of the most well acted, ensemble, pieces that I have seen in a long time. The movie deals with major, relevant, social issues here that are eerily current. The "grossness" of some of the characters arc at a high while others are more in the "middle". And, all the while, it is completely grounded in the poignant, riveting, and honest performance by Salma Hayek. There is a certain "fantasy" to some of this film that is fresh and beautiful. It's a fantastic mixture completely brought together by the director Miguel Arteta. It is a very dark comedy and balances these subtle "funny" moments, which are brought into it's situational events and circumstance at dinner, with the consciousness of real world happenings. Wonderfully written and worth a second watch. Note: You must like great acting, good film, great writing, and appreciate existentialism. This is not "Dumb and Dumber"..Score: 5/5
