An Unspeakable Magic - My Favorite Movie of All TimeReleased amidst a flurry of critic-pleasing flicks, Brigsby Bear is a film that could have easily faded in the din of politically-profound and socially-controversial art pieces. But let it be known that there is an unspeakable magic about one lovable protagonist that makes Brigsby Bear my favorite movie of all time. Watching it on a transcontinental flight, I had little expectations of a movie I had heard little about. Yet, a touching story of one's love of a stuffed bear intertwined with humour from Saturday Night Live's best, Brigsby Bear is a movie I particularly appreciate as a hopeful cinematographer, but more relevantly, as a kid with a dream they would give the world to achieve. The title I consider my favorite movie of all time, admittedly, changes often. But as for now, and likely for the entirety of the year, Brigsby Bear is a movie that's made me tearful more and more as I enjoy it time and time again..Score: 5/5

Sweet movie without cynicismI did not know what to expect as I tried to reconcile the trailers into exactly what this film was about. Turns out, it was about all of them... and they came together in the most lovely way. It is so easy to see an attempt at a film and criticize choices and production values... to tear it apart for what it became or failed to become. The heart of this film is so huge and so genuine you don't. Also, for a cast of SNL folk, you don't ever get that self-aware performance style that would ruin the sincerity of a story like this (except for a couple of moments by Andy Samberg but they are appropriately small). This is a film i will watch again and share with friends. What a great surprise. I needed this after so much awfulness in the world and the country at the moment. Thank you Kyle Mooney for making me forget about Republicans for a couple of hours..Score: 5/5
Wow. Surprising and amazing.I was totally not expecting this movie to be this good. Kyle Mooney is really funny on SNL, but I didn't know how great he is an actor. The casting is perfect and there's so much more depth than I would have imagined. Do yourself a favor and buy this movie..Score: 5/5
